In most cases when you receive the vin, the car is at port. That's when they are supposed to match up the vin with the Von. Your eta will also update as well (in most cases)

With when you ordered yours, I would assume that your car should be at the port in the next couple of weeks. Just call SOA once a week until you get the vin.

My car comes iwth short throw shifter option.. I was a bit surprised to find that the shifter was actually just as "tall" up in the air as my normal one... I realize short throw shifter is more about the shorter distance of the shift but I thought they were also actually shorter in stature... anybody know?

If you have your VON (which you should have received when you ordered your car) you can call 1-800-subaru3.

And the factory SS really only shortens the throw. And good aftermarket ss kit like a kartboy or Cobb will shorten throw and the physical height of the shifter. Don't know the compatability of the after market shifter with the factory SS...

I got news that my car will hit port on the 13th. I ordered in Feb. And have had the VIN for ~3 weeks. At least it's semi-finals news. Maybe I'll get it before July...

Don't get me wrong, I love my car and the boost feels great, but...being a BMW tech really ****s with my butt dyno for my own car. Hard to be really impressed with your own car when you test drive cars with 500+ Hp on a daily basis....stupid M cars.

I was just quoted $29.5k out the door including taxes and fees for a '13 WRX Premium hatch. It comes with the SPT Exhaust and short shifter and bumper cover (whatever that is). Trying to get them to throw in the cargo tray. This is an ok price to me so far, what do you guys think? I'm very close to pulling the trigger.

I've never noticed the hill assist activating in my 1600 miles. It's just the interwebz exaggerating everything as always.

No.. I definitely notice it. Actually it's almost to the point where sometimes it aggravates me. If you want honesty here it is. On an incline whether small or large, the hill assist works wonders. You sometimes get that a**hole who thinks you have an automatic like him/her so they constantly creep up behind you. With the assist it holds you right in place when you let off the break so you can only move forward without roll (and please don't say you "like to roll back" because that's kind of tool-ish. You don't need to show off or let the world know your car is stick). The only downside that I have came across thus far, is I think sometimes the sensors may be engaged even when the car is not inclined, so when I'm actually not on a hill, it will activate and once I proceed to start moving it holds the car in place until the assist disengages and I jerk forward a little. It's a little annoying.

Mine has never activated on anything but a decently steep incline/decline.

Quote:
From what I have read the hill assist will not engage when in neutral. So if you hate it really bad try keeping it in neutral while you stop, put it in gear, and go. Some have had success with that |
