You can give Ramapo Reservation a shot. I think it's off 280 up in beregen county. There's also Harriman state park just over the NY border.

I've been on my bike 3x since I had an accident @ 30mph with one of my friends in 99. I really shoud get on it more.

Hey Diablo Freeride Park is awesome. Also this site Hcor.net is good for our area. If you are looking for cross country Ringwood is a fast rolling place. But check out that site because they have a lot of good info.

Do a web search on NJ parks or NJ bike trails. I'm sure you'll come up with something. I think every county has a park system, and their site can give you directions and trail maps. I know we have www.morrisparks.org

I go almost weekly.Glouster county college has the best running trail in the state and it is awesome to bikeride for any level. if you want something difficult( rocky with long uphills) go to wissahickin in PA, Brandywine in delaware or hartshorn. If you want something easy yet fun and fast go to Camden county college. If you want someone to ride with hit me up. Also check out http://www.mtbr.com it has just about every good trail in the country listed and rated.

Default Ringwood State Park

There are miles and miles of singletrack, some of it quite technical. I am currently selling my hardtail (Giant ATX860) to get a full suspension (Iron Horse Hollowpoint sport or Marin Rift Zone).

I own a bike shop in Philly called Bicycle Therapy. I ride with people in Wissahickon 2-3 times a week. If you want to join us some weekend send me a PM. I ride a 2005 Litespeed Ti Sewanee and a 2003 Ti Tomac Revolver. Also ride a single speed from time to time.

Ringwood/Skyline drive for the best stuff in the state, although easy to not find the good trails and come away disappointed. Only place to go in NJ for an epic ride (5+ hours)
Chimney Rock is close and good for a 2+ hour ride.
Round Valley for murderously tough climbing
Lewis Moris for not very technical
Hartshorne supposed to be good, but never been there.
Waywayanda - good change of pace from Ringwood, but not as good
Mahlon Dickerson and Allamuchy are also good spots, but I really dont know them to compare to anything else.

Forest Park was good aside from off roading over the broken glass and syringes, and having the sound of traffic all around you.

It could have used a good clean up but pretty challenging otherwise.

I've been riding around in the back yard the last couple days, forgot how much fun it is to MTB after spending 100% of my 2 wheel time on the gas powered machines over the last 2 years.

Big votes from me for Allamuchy (both south of 80 and north) for varied, mostly single track terrain, and Kittatinny for fun-park like entertainment on shorter excursions.

Although, both of these are pretty far from the Brunswicks.

I've been to Wissahickon once this summer... what a blast! About 13 miles of good and not overly technical trails.

In Jersey... try Chimney Rock, Mercer County Park, and Hartshorne. I never rode Round Valley... only because of 'em killer hills.

Diabolo Park I hear has great DH runs and North Shore type riding.
