Default How many stock 257s still running w/high boost?

I would like to know how many sti's are running higher boost or aftermarket turbos with the stock bottom end and for how many miles. Compression numbers, boost numbers, upgrades would be appreciated.

I havent managed to blow up my block yet. I consistently run 1.5bar, might not be very high boost but I give it hell everytime I drive it.

I was running a 20g for about 2 months, upgraded to a sz49. I am actually going back to a 20g next week, better all around turbo imo.

I have ran 22-24psi on mine no problems. Once I get a FMIC I will run 24-25psi daily on pump gas.

I ran an SBR-GT12 turbo at approximatly 20-21psi for about 2000 miles. I used 93 pump the whole time I did that...

My current turbo is a Zilla 20G. I'm consistently hitting 1.6 bar (~23psi) in every gear, except 6th gear (which I don't do pulls in). I have methanol injection which turns on at 18+psi. I've been running this setup for about 4000 miles. Stock block. No problems as of yet.... Knock on some wood please.

If you want to drag race, the SBR-GT12 would be better - if tuned properly. Remember, it has a compressor wheel over 10lb/min bigger (55 lb/min vs 44.5 lb/min) so it can push more air.

The 20G is more streetable, and would make a better road course turbo (better power band, better boost onset, better partial throttle/off throttle boost response) - if tuned properly.

Personally, I like the 20G better. To each their own...
