Default Locked inside my own car with a radio that won't turn off.

So this was a weird one with my '17 Impreza. Got home last night, parked the car, couldn't get out.

Door just wouldn't unlock. I tried the power switch on the door for all locks, I tried the keyfob, locking and unlocking, but nothing. Sounded like the lock was operating, but the door wouldn't open. Thinking maybe something was wrong with the handle, I opened the window and tried opening it from outside but still nothing, the door was locked. Even tried shifting through all the gears, in case its one of those things where it's not completely in Park so weird things happen.

(And this is awful, but it's been so long since I've used a physical door lock, it didn't even occur to me to check it )

At this point I'm thinking maybe something froze since it's so cold out, so to at least get my kid out of his car seat in the back, I struggled over the center console, getting salty mud everywhere, and exited the passenger side.

It was at this point I realized that the radio wouldn't turn off. Usually double-clicking the lock would cut the electrical, but not this time. I tried the remote starter, turning the engine on and off, radio stayed on. Using the key to cycle the engine on and off, radio stayed on no matter what, even as the screen went black.

Now I'm thinking there's some sort of computer crash happening, so I pop the hood to see about disconnecting the battery. It's about 4F outside right now, my fingers have already lost feeling, and I'm doing a mental checklist of what size wrench I'll need to unto the bolt and whatever, when I hear the radio shut off.

I go around to the driver's side and try the handle, and lo and behold it opens! But the car still thought it was locked, so set off the alarm, honking the horn repeatedly. I was able to stop it with the keyfob and at this point it starts behaving normally. And it's been behaving normally all day today.

Has anyone ever seen something like this? What ties the driver side door lock to the radio's power source? Did it think the key was still in the ignition, even with all the turning ons and offs? Computer glitch? Something temperature related?

It's Subaru brand; it was installed at the dealership when I bought the car, and the fob has a Subaru logo on it.

Well.. it's been a few days and still acting normal. I guess I'll chalk it up to a software/firmware glitch?

Sounds like the cable the actuates the actual lock came out of its socket/holders, this happened to me once when I had taken my door panels off to put in new speakers or something and maybe didn't quite seat the cable that actuates the lock correctly. If it was so cold out, condensation or just regular water from the window may have gotten into the mechanism and frozen it solid.

That was my initial thought too, but then the radio wouldn't turn off. Then, the radio turned off and the car began behaving normally. So I don't know.. If it can't unlock, the electrical system can't turn off?
