Can someone confirm this paint process, that it is the best it can get?

-3m solvent to clean trim
-light wetsand old color with 2000 grit
-clean with solvent
-primer, 2 coats at least
-wetsand primer w/2000 or 3000 grit
-clean
-apply 2-3 coats paint
-full day cure?
-clear coat optional

Done?

Wet sand 400/800/1000/2000.
Wash with sponge and dishwashing liquid in between.

Just wipe with a microfiber + alcohol after 2000.

Put in a box to dry.
Paint the trim inside the box then cover. (Up to 5 layers 30 mins interval)
I used krylon fusion satin black.

Apply last clear coat of dupli color matte for wheels. Apply very lightly so as not to flood the trim otherwise it will wrinkle and ruin the whole thing.

I also baked this after the satin black for an hour at 180f. Another hour after the clear coat.

That panel looks great!

You used a MATTE clearcoat? Is that a non-gloss coating?

I've pretty much decided on spark silver for the climate bezel to the door lever bezels. Now, either dgm or sem satin black for all 4 window switch trims.

Matte clear coat for wheels yes.

Gloss sucks balls. Creates too much static and attracts dust. Matte does not.

I'll be honest. I'm kind of considering this color (86F) Blue Steel Metallic. Like Derek Zoolander 'Cool'.
