Had a good conversation with Matt over at Guard today.

I'm really looking forward to an EMCO offering for the 5MT, in dogbox form.

It's really gonna be a game changer, coupled with the right ratio's and diffs these boxes are going to be the cream of the crop!

Cost is coming, give them some time, its busy right now with Grand-Am and Rolex in full swing, they also support IRL and NASCAR, so be patient. I'm hoping to have a gear set for display at PRI 2013 in INDY, :crosses fingers:

Turns out this is something I need. Rounded off 4th at Road Atlanta this weekend. Must be the whopping 250 ft lbs of torque I make

Damn I live in Des Plaines right next to Elk Grove. Will definitely have to check this out once I get comfortable drifting at stock power and start looking for more. Already got a spare trans.

helical doesn't change your shift engagement, I think you mean syncro.

It's gonna be a bit.

I was told in January 6-8 months.

Engineering is 4-6 weeks and production will vary. The dogbox stuff is simpler to make so less time for those for sure.

Be patient please Don't want to take the cake out too soon

Once we decide on price, ratios and all the other bit and pieces will be decided.

The plan so far is a spur gear for 1-2 helical for 3-5, that will reduce the loading on the case.

you can add me, but I might have to hit up Andrewtech before then. I'm down to my last stock gearbox and the season just started.

I have an 05 legacy gt box though. 4.11 fd. Curious what the ratios might be.

Not sure this will be a cheaper option.

A better option for sure.

Once you figure in diffs/install and what not.

You won't have to worry about extra weight, missed shifts will be a thing of the past, and you won't have to worry about having a glass transmission.

Still curious what the maintenance intervals are on a tranny like this and what kind of maintenance is involved. Thanks

Well compared to overall cost and support of the ppg. This in my opinion is cheaper.

Will depend on various factors.

I'll get a baseline from EMCO on their recommended service intervals for the dogboxes.

Ratios, will be decided later on as well.
