Those Iron City bottles are great!

They even make the beer seem colder, which in turn makes Iron City drinkable.

BTW - The aluminum bottles replaced Iron City's glass bottles. Therefore it is an aluminum bottle. /thread

Pittsburgh, PA (December 10, 2004) -- Pittsburgh, Pa. (December 9, 2004) –Business Week, a national magazine that covers the business world, has selected Pittsburgh Brewing Co.’s new Iron City aluminum bottle as one of the 10 best products of 2004.

In its December 13th issue, Business Week features a picture of the new aluminum bottle and states that it “Gets cool faster. Stays cool longer. Best of all, it just plain looks cool, too.”

Launched in August 2004, the new Iron City aluminum bottle has become another innovation for the brewery. PBC is the first brewery in the country to distribute the aluminum bottle on a national scale. The bottle is available in states that currently have licenses to carry PBC products. It is estimated that 6 more states will feature this product by early spring.

The success of the bottle also continues a long line of firsts in packaging for the brewery. PBC was the first to use the snap-top can (with help from Alcoa, another Pittsburgh-based company) and the first to use the twist-off caps.

Joseph Piccirilli, vice chairman of PBC, says, “We are pleased by the success of the new aluminum bottle, and thank everyone who has helped make it a big success. PBC has always looked towards new and innovating ways to move the brewery first in the competitive market, and we think Business Week’s designation proves we are achieving that goal.”

No question it is an aluminum bottle.

Aluminum expresses it's material, bottle expresses its shape.

A bottle-shaped can is an oxymoron because the term can itself is a shortened form of canister, which is by definition a uniformly cylindrical container with both ends being of equal diameter.

So it would be like saying a bottle shaped pyramid.
