Looks like they nailed that original design concept.

Nissan grows a better LEAF
Great technology. Good looking EV.
How big a factor is distance-per-charge for buyers? GM manages 238 miles for the Bolt. Coincidentally, Leaf and Bolt have a floating C-Pillar. |

New Nissan Leaf tipped to get Nismo performance pack
The new Nissan Leaf could be offered with a Nismo styling pack to enhance its appeal and attract younger buyers. Design chief Alfonso Albaisa told Autocar that adding a “racier version” with Nismo trim could help the second-gen hatch reach image-conscious buyers — something its predecessor struggled to do. “The previous Leaf’s design wasn’t popular with the majority of people,***8232;so its look couldn’t contribute to sales,”***8232; he said. “The new car***8232; is lower, wider and sportier, with the point***8232; of this design being to***8232; get greater accessibility of the market.” Albaisa said it would be easy to develop Nismo parts for the new Leaf. Such a practice isn’t new to Nissan because it offers Nismo trim on several models, including the Juke. A hotter Leaf E-Plus is also due in 2019. It will have higher-capacity batteries and a stiffer structure. A Nismo pack could make such a model constitute a performance variant. Autocar |

I dont hate it...It looks like an honest little car. The nose makes the word Beak come to mind, but still all in all, it is a HUGE improvement over the last car. And I vehemently agree that the interior looks to be a nice place to be!

still only 150 miles per charge? that is a best case scenario, I assume real world mileage, when attempting to maintain the battery as long as possible will result in 100 summer 80 winter in New England. If I have to go to my office in the winter, that's one round trip, ignoring parking garage driving and if I go out during the day or have to run to a job site.
The Chevy offering at 238 is in my estimation is realistically 190/170 if aiming for optimal battery life, which would be more livable. My issue with these cars however is the price you pay to play the game, I've done the math, they do not make financial sense for what they are (economy cars). High buy in, and with electric rates what they are in my area, almost as expensive to run as a gas job (granted, with much reduced maintenance costs) and the depreciation factor. If a manufacturer makes a performance oriented model that is comparable in price & utility to what I drive now, I'll consider buying one new. However in a few years when the Chevys start to come off lease, if it has a good track record (not riddled with recalls and tech glitches), I'll probably pick one up at a steal as they will depreciate as fast or faster than other technology does. |

Another item of note, at $29,900 the math almost works vs it's similarly equipped and sized combustion counter parts with out the Federal rebate. If they can get these within $5000 of the MSRP of the Mazda3's and Civics they become more economical even at sub $3 gas prices.

I do a solar study every year as well, that never pans out to be worth the investment (unless I essentially sell my roof and "lease" the panels). for my EV/ICE comparison - my maintenance costs are skewed, since I do the maintenance on my cars I don't pay dealer rates, I just pay materials. Without getting to into the minutia here, for me, in my area, an EV doesn't make sense, Especially considering the actual price paid for a comparable ICE, even after tax incentives on the Leaf/Bolt. |

Impressive design inside and out. The exterior is certainly more mainstream now, but perhaps not distinctive. 150 mile range for the base model is adequate if not great for the price.

I don't want an appearance package. The way it is would be just fine. This would be a commuter car, I'm not trying to get some hot hatch out of it. I just want 4 wheels to get power so I can have better off-the-line traction in the wet winters here.

I really don't like it when automakers try to style headlights and tailights but more 1/3 don't actually light up. Those taillights on the Leaf are all look, not much show unfortunately. Kind of like how the 2017 Volvo XC90 taillights don't light up all the way.

I just want to put my vote in for giving inventor of the stupid floating roof a big freaking smack down. Pointless styling is pointless. If they did not call it a floating roof, I would have never even seen or even thought it looked anything like a floating roof.

Sorry there guy my error wrong link. I was trying to link you to where they said their going to use the new Leaf E chassis hardware etc to make an SUV. So if they did that I would assume AWD future leaf wouldn't happen ,they would just want you to jump into an SUV

I'm in complete shock that the best looking (non-GTR) Nissan is the Leaf replacement. . I can't wait for these to fall below $10k in 2 years.

It is refreshing that upscale'esque interiors have trickled down to non-luxury vehicles, and sporty interiors in battery operated cars.
