I mark my photos with a small signature. Nothing more, just 3 letters "R3V". Simple and marks it as mine.

Shooting in thick fog is always pretty fun to me. The problem though is that with fog and being at night, you need to really use longer shutter speeds to get the right exposure. I'd say each of your fog photos needs more exposure and your white balance in the second photo doesn't match the other two. The first photo also looks like the pillars holding up the building are growing out of your car. The other issue with your fog photos carries over to your daytime photos...I think you've oversaturated a bit. In the second fog photo, there's a blue light above the car that is way oversaturated, looking like it's bleeding into the fog. In the daytime photos, the blue is really strong, as is the red. On top of that, you've got a bit of a blown out sky, which is causing bands of weird colors. Your second daytime photo has a tree growing out of the car, and your last photo looks like the car's just chopped in half. |

Here's a new one of my car. Shot with the Canon 5D and 135L.
I do quite a bit of photography but I don't watermark all of it. If I am shooting for print sales then I certainly will. If it's just pictures of my own car, then I don't. Pretty hard for someone else to claim they took a photo of my car. |

It's good to see not everything centered in the frame, but overall I'd say your strongest shot is the one that actually is centered in the frame, not because of the composition, but because of where the car is actually placed. Having the car on the road is much stronger than being on the side of the road. With the road the way it is, don't be afraid to zoom in or get closer. The wide **** is decent but those are the kind of shots where a more zoomed in shot with some blurred background can look really good. That one's also the only one where your cars are turned to face the camera. Keep working on your composition and then you can start to worry about any processing later. As for your landscapes, you definitely want to make sure your horizon is level. |

As for watermarks, it's not so much that someone else will claim they took a photo of your car, but more that a photo of your car that you took could be used for an unintended purpose. There was a NASIOC vendor that took one of my photos, cropped out the watermark, and tried to sell knock-off body kits with the photo. I called them out and ultimately had the photos removed. Sadly, stuff like this happens all the time in the automotive world. |

Good point on the polarizer. I really need to do that. That shot had the saturation cranked way down. I like the effect in some shots. This one didn't change much so I probably just could have left it.

Been awhile...fair amount of tweaking in lightroom but I think I nailed the "grungy" look I was going for.

I have not gone out and shot for quite a while and feel a little rusty. We ended up doing a few rig shots and I did some still shots of my car. I wanted to try and do two shots with my CPL to work on the reflections on both the hood and side of the car but ended up moving the tripod a little and it did not work out... It also ended up raining on us while we were out there but made for a different look and I actually did not mind...Critique and help appreciated...

You're definitely off to a good start! I like your different angles, different elevations, and overall composition. Don't forget to turn those wheels to face the camera in the first shot, and really all you need from here is a better location to shoot the car. Your last photo is a decent desaturation, however the rear window still has color, so it looks rather odd. I like the angle a lot though!

It's definitely grungy, but the first thought I had was "where's the car?" Since it's covered up by all the grass and such, it seems like it wasn't supposed to be in the photo to begin with.

I agree, a like 10% or so less grass would have been better for what I was going for.

Typically my first recommendation for a new lens is a 50mm ƒ1.8. You can usually find one brand new for around $100 and since it's a prime lens, it's good for really improving your composition skills. On top of that, you can get some nice thin depth of field with the lower f-stop. After that, usually a telephoto lens is where I'd go next. As I mentioned on the previous page, there's no reason to switch out your current kit lens until you've definitely outgrown its capabilities.

Where can I get a lens for a 100 bucks?! All the lenses I have been looking at are at least 400 dollars and up. How much can I really accomplish with my currrent set up?
