Sorry Kevin - I had a tight schedule and my wife was with me. Got a feeling I'll be up there again.

Once the car is completed with wiring, ECU, full tank and body panels, I would guess it to be close to 1900lbs. That's a good bit heavier than I thought but still extremely light weight enough to be a lot of fun.
I hope my check book can endure this final phase in getting my car on the road. |

Just keep in mind Marty, that Danny over built the car. It's designed to go not only on the track, but on the street.
On a track, all the vehicles are approximately the same size, going within a reasonable speed of each other, and all going the same direction. On the street there are much larger vehicles than the TR42, lots of people that quite frankly don't know how to drive, opposing and intersecting directions, and pot holes, road imperfections, etc. It could be lighter, but wouldn't be nearly as "safe." Personally, I would take the extra weight. It's not a purpose built race car. It still has a higher power to weight ratio than 90% of the cars on the planet. |

Yes. 1580lbs
I'm sort of shocked, I didn't weigh the wings and brackets, larger turbo, larger intercooler, "Cup holder"...LOL etc... I had told Kevin the other day it would be 1700/1750. |

Some parts to be changed
After TiC inspected the entire car it seems there may be several parts that will need to be changed.
Anyone that has a need for some new (installed but never used) parts may have a chance to get a substantial savings. Perrin Fuel rails (paid $425) Prosport Gauges (boost/air-fuel ratio/oil pressure)(paid $182/$209/$105) Grimspeed AOS (paid $255) Last edited by hipowernut; 12-18-2012 at 05:50 AM. |

They are expensive since they come with hoses, hose shielding and connectors etc.
Also the BOV is on the wrong side on your TMIC since your turbo inlet is on the right and not the left. |

There are a few things we want to change for the sake of reliability and outright safety in a car such as this. The fuel system is going to be all AN fittings and lines so there is no chance of a barb and clamp fitting losing a line.
We are also pulling the motor this afternoon to begin the instead of forged pistons and better bearings. Progress is being made and in short order. We are really pleased to be involved in such a great project. Tony Last edited by Turn in Concepts; 12-18-2012 at 09:52 AM. |

Speaking of safety.
Check this out... Its a kit I'm assembling for a customer. The entire roll cage is welded to open end thin wall square tube waiting to be torn off! and just about half the miter cuts look to be 1/4" short and filled Is it just me or is this NOT safe! |

Well, at least they gooped the welds on there nice and thick. If the weld looks like someone took a wad of bubble gum and smooshed it around the piping, that means it's wicked strong!
