Default Track night at GLD - 8/12

Going to Great Lakes tomorrow night to improve on last year's best of 14.5 (with K&N). Considering I have TXS stage 2 sans UTEC, I'm hoping for 13.5-13.7.

I'll be going down with my brother and some of his friends. My brother has a stock Evo, so it should be a lot of fun to see who runs faster.

Other cars include:

Low-11 second VR-4
10-11 second Supra - exterior looks stock (except for the Volks)

Probably headed down around 6:00 or so.

Here's my brother's Evo:

Evolution

And the 3000GT that qualified 2nd in the Quick 8 at the 3000GT/Stealth shootout a few weeks back:

Fast VR-4

It also won the 3S class at the '02 DSM Shootout.

Hope to see more WRX's there!

Wish I could go but my car is at the dealer. 4th time; at least Don Jacobs agreed to work on it under the warranty after I removed the oil catch can and fuel pressure sensor. The P0442 better go away after all this hassle.

Let me know if you are going down again,

I don't whether that's good or bad news.

Actually, that's good news that you were able to convince them to service it under warranty - I know that CEL has been plaguing you for awhile.

Too bad, I really wanted to see what your setup will run. Anyway, I'm sure we'll head back down in a few weeks - hopefully you'll be able to join us then.

Just got my car back

It seems to be fixed (fuel pressue sensor had a leak and they replaced some gasket on the fuel tank). It takes a week or so to see if the problem is really fixed. Overall, I am very pleased with Don Jacobs as they did this under the warranty.

As for GLD, I hope you have a good time. Its a little too late of notice to actually get down there myself but I'd like to get down there eventually.

Wow, I'm surprised they actually fixed something - hopefully all is now well.

As for me, the night kind of sucked. I'm not a big fan of GLD anyway, so add my poor driving into the mix and you get a best run of:

r/t .829
60' 2.051
330 5.882
1/8 9.078
MPH 77.04
1000 11.814
1/4 14.164
MPH 95.36

Ran two other times - best MPH was 96.04.

I had to fix an exhaust leak earlier in the week, so the MBC was only set at 15psi - didn't have time to bump it up to 15.5-16.5. Though I'm not sure how much more mph that would have given me. Sixty-foot time sucked, but a lot of people with street tires appeared to have problems.

I'm going to try some things and head back in a few weeks if you're still interested in running your car.

I saw two other WRX's run: a blue one (w/spoiler) ran 13.8/14.1 at 98mph and a black one ran in the mid-14's. Other cars:

S2000 (that appeared to be spraying) ran a 14.3 and 15.0 - no traction whatsoever.

SRT-4 - [email protected] - I've seen this silver one up on Hwy 100 and think it's stock.

New 911 Turbo - [email protected] - this car was impressive, but ran faster than it appeared to be going - very smooth.

Oh, the 3000GT and Supra I mentioned? Well, the 3000GT ran a best of [email protected] before I left. The Supra (on Bridgestone Potenzas) ran a [email protected] before I left (actually, that time I ran against it - very depressing!).

There was a fairly stock looking '99+ Mustang GT (with a supercharger) that ran a 12.2.

Jared...still looking to break into the 13's
