Nice install. You got me thinking about doing something to my 2003 Legacy GT.

I have one question though. How much did you have to change your alignment after the upgrade? Could the factory hardware still be used to get a decent alignment setting close to stock? Or did you have to go about getting camber plates and cam bolts and such to correct it?

no need for aftermarket camber plates or bolts. You should be able to get 0 degrees front camber with the stock bolts. I was able to get -1.5 on my car once it was lowered. The rear camber is non-adjustable so you must take what you get, which in my case was -1.3 on the super low STi pink springs, but will be around -0.8 to -1 with H&r's, a "sporty," yet not tire-killing value. This is why I chose to get -1.5 up front so that the camber was pretty even f/r.

Some of the guys posted about STI springs over at the Toronto Subaru boards.

They pointed me at this:

1005G-041-061 STI genuine parts.
-25mm drop (1inch) and apprently it is specific for a SE sedan? Does anyone know or have heard of these before?

impressions of the GR2 shocks? Been doing some searches to see what aftermarket shock offerings there are for the BE legacy. It looks like there are two.

KYB GR2
Bilstein HD

Can you comment on the overall ride quality of the shocks? Do they seem bouncy to you?

I can't say how the shocks affected ride quality because I never had them on with the stock springs. They are definately stiffer though. I love the ride of my car now but some find it a little rough.

i've had eibach springs on my '97 legacy with KYB GR2's and it was an awesome setup. defenitly NOT bouncy. also had GR2's on my honda accord. they're good shocks.
and as far as bilstein, i've NEVER heard anything bad about them. they make good quality shocks too.

It is a 2001, so the numbers I posted are correct.

One thing I did forget to put on my list is the strut mounts. I want the cheapest ones I can get out of KYB, Subaru OEM or STi...any suggestions? I know the difference in performance and all that, and it doesn't really matter, I just want it to be at least OEM quality and CHEAP.

thanks

Jared

KYB probably makes all three mounts. Tirerack probably has the KYB-branded ones. The Group N/STI mounts are still rubber, but you will get a bit more NVH with them and they might be a bit hard to track down for a BE/BH, though not impossible. I have a set of front mounts that I need to put on sometime, probably after finding some rears first.

Also, are there dust shields and bumpers on both front and rear assemblies? Anyone have those part numbers?

They're the same as the Impreza mounts. (And the BD/BG for that matter) Subaru used the same front strut mounts on most, if not all of their cars up until '05. And yes, the Group N mounts definitely add some NVH.

Yes there are, and I just carried them over from the stock set. I don't have the PN but if you PM Jamie she can probably get them for you.

I need some help here even though it may not be the right thread...
I just installed whiteline springs on my BE last week. I used the stock struts and everything. I believe I need to get an alignment done asap, so I am wondering do I need to buy camber bolts for the rear as well or I should ask do they fit at the rear struts? I asked subaru's mechanic in dealership today..they said 02 legacy's rear dont have space for camber bolts but I would like to confirm what do I need to buy before I go for an alignment

By the way, should I go for this setting?
Touring Setup
Front Camber: -1
Front Caster: Max
Front Toe: 0
Rear Camber: -0.75
Rear Caster: N/A
Rear Toe: 1mm Out
