Default A/F Meter?

Hello, all!

Would anyone in the area have an A/F meter that they'd be willing to use on my car? I'm trying to figure out why my mileage is so poor on my 06FXT, and checking the A/F ratios is high on my list, now that I've tried the other obvious stuff (tire pressure, oil change, driving style, etc.)

I can offer beer or reasonable compensation.

try ecu explorer, if you can download it to your laptop and plug in your AP cable to your diagi port and to your laptop you can pull logs with it...

I don't think Glyn has the AccessPort. If the on-board O2 sensor readings are good enough, I am sure Glyn can stop by the Dyno meet this weekend to borrow a cable.

What if the O2 sensor is defective and giving the wrong reading, causing the ECU to use too much fuel? Would logging reveal anything then?

borrow a wideband. If your mileage is THAT crappy you should see and smell the richness... maybe reset your ecu by unplugging the battery for a night.

First off what's your mpg. I get 4 mpg at the track and happy

Are you using husky 92/94? This will reduce your mileage

Subaru's run very rich stock, dipping below 10 to 1 sometimes in open loop.

Its a turbo car on crap Alberta fuel needing lots of fuel to counter detonation while in open loop.

The factory ECU is one funky piece of gear. One time full timing the next 8 degrees is gone if it sees any detonation. Yes it saves your engine but over reacts and you lose power and fuel economy.

Your cars under warranty, get the dealer to check.

The dealership won't do anything if there's no CEL. Also, if he ran any program that gets the A/F from the O2 sensor, it doesn't let him verify if the O2 sensor itself is acting funky. What he needs is a wideband O2 sensor that goes into the bung or in the tailpipe, as in one on a 4 wheel dyno.

Are there any 4-wheel dynos in Edmonton?
