Default Agency Power Lightweight Crank Pulley Subaru WRX/STI 02+

I installed this pulley, in black, on my 2005 STi 2 days ago. (The stock pulley is HEAVY!) The install was extremely easy (even if you are a novice mechanic). I did the install on my own with no assistance in less than 30 min. (I am a certified technician, your time may be a little slower) This is definitely a good mod to add to the list, especially if you haven't done a lot to your ride yet. It makes the car feel 100lbs lighter, climbs through the RPM's faster, and it doesn't bog down in between gears as much.

All-in-all this was a good investment! I would recommend to all!!

The CNC machined aluminum pulley is made from high grade 6061 material and finished in either a Flat Black or Gloss Silver color. Each pulley has the Agency Power text laser engraved. The pulley has been broached for a perfect fit and the redesigned lightweight center gives you the best possible advantage over the competition.

The Agency Power pulley is the same diameter as the stock pulley. Keeping the diameter the same allows no issues to occur with the alternator as under driven pulleys do sometimes. Weighing only 1.0lbs, it is almost 5lbs lighter then stock. This is also the lightest crank pulley on the market. This gives you quicker throttle response as well as more horsepower and torque. Saving on rotating mass results in better performance.

my fxt boggs bad when i go from 1st to 2nd when gettin on it, its like a hesitation and then power comes on. my buddy has a sti and said when he installed the ap pulley the boggin/surging in between shifts went away. im gonna get one and see if it helps. does the pulley slide off by hand or will i need a puller ?

You shouldn't need a puller, mine came right off by hand with no effort. You'll need to place the tranny in a high gear (i used 5th) and set the e-brake, your car is going to want to roll backwards. I also chocked my front wheels since i was working alone. If you have someone to help, they can hold the brake pedal down while you break the crank bolt loose. The torque spec for the STi crank bolt is 132 ft lbs, I would assume your fxt is about the same.

I've had this thing installed for over a week now and i must say, I really love this mod. It really makes the car more responsive. I definitely still recommend this mod to anyone. I read somewhere it is supposed to increase hp by 9. Im not sure how accurate that is, but at less than $150, I think this mod is well worth it!

Do you have to do any kind of tuning for this?

I do not think that a lightweight pulley requires a tune revision; it doesn't affect airflow or fuel delivery.

Also, remember that the torque spec on the aluminum pulley should be lower than the stock pulley. I remember tightening to ~95lbs on my cobb pulley.
