I wonder how this would look in gold (eventually going to have gold rims to match)

you could heat it up and just push on the two things holding the badge to the car inside the trunk.....but why would you do that?

yeah you might just want to work with the part you are painting itself....

heres why:
1. if you debadge the car, later on you will have to put the surround back on the car...
2. you STILL need to get the clear plastic off the surround to paint it
3. you COULD damage your car when you remove the badge from the paint..

Did mine black today..

This is literally one of the easiest DIY mods ive done...each emblem takes maybe 30 mins which includes paint and letting it dry.. I used rustoleum special paint for plastic. I masked off the emblem and did 3 coats, and re-applied new 3M tape. The emblems came out so good like it was like this from the factory

I used my cars touch up paint to do this, it was easy and turned out well. People ask me where I bought it from.

I used instructions from post #15 from this thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=945466). I used a hairdryer to heat it up and an allen key to push the badge out of the chrome housing.
It was alot easier than I thought.

Painted my badge red today (red made more sense to me thank pink since the calipers are red and RA-R style grill)

The paint was definitely harder to remove than I thought just using nail polish and I kinda screwed up the front. The nail polish left a white haze on some portions and didn't get all the blue off the back.

I'll be doing the back emblem tomorrow so pics to come soon

Please post pics! I'm debating either Cherry Red or Glossy Black ..

My car is black with a red RA-R stripe and time attack wheels ..

Okay, Im stumped. How the hell do you get the badge off the trunk itself? I dont mean the blue badge off the chrome surrounding but the whole thing off the trunk.

And heres a pic of the front - just a practice one, I think I'll end up doing a new one

What 3M tape did you use? All I can find at my local parts store is the molding tape that is so think the 'star' part will not sit down flush like it did before.

i got it at wallmart, its in a roll, and its grey and is exactly like the stock stuff but a tad thicker

i belive its the SCOTCH 3M line of double sided tape, i try'd to find it on the 3m website but that website has alot of stuff to search through

heres a crappy pic i took so u can see what too look for

I got my '02 front badge off and I want to paint it to the stock blue of the never models but I was curious if anyone had an idea of what color blue would be the closest match.

The badge on the front of my '06 was like a blue/black weave pattern...hard to describe
