Default My 2005 WRB STI / Project #05blobsti

Hey guys, haven't documented any of the stuff done to my 2005 sti so far so I'm just going to start posting a few pictures on here whenever I get time and add things here and there as I go.

Most of the car is already finished being built mechanically. I have a few more suspension bits I'll be installing soon and then the rest of what I have planned is cosmetic. So far with just the jdm lip and fogs I have put on but there is lots more to come in the looks department and when it's done it should look amazing!

Really I just want to have a place with some pictures so I can have them in case I lose them on my phone or whatever.

I actually just posted most of my engine/mechanical mods in the power bragging forum so I'll put a link to that page so you can check that out if you want. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...8#post45987868
I also have a lot of my pictures of the car documented so far on my Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/endara.dre
With everything STI related being under
#05blobsti

Anyways here is a picture as she sits right now

I will honestly probably sell the STI as is once I finish it so I can build my true passion project, the white legacygt wagon sitting behind the STI on jack stands. I have so many parts lying around for that car and I need to get going on it.

I used to have this silver one but I sold it and bought the white one from California to have a mint super clean body for my build

And here is the white one that is so spotless underneath you could eat off it

Delivery day

Anyways back to the STI

Work in progress

Cold engine compression test, all cylinders around 120psi

And finished

These are all the pictures I am apparently allowed to put into one post so I will continue this in my next post. Thanks for looking guys. Let me know what you think of it 😁👍

Thanks guys!

Once I get home tonight from work I'll post up some more stuff about the STI and the LGT wagon.

And yes to cleaning the upper reservoir. The previous owner had plasti dipped it and it looked awful so I cleaned it off. I plan to make a full build thread for the wagon on legacygt.com but that probably won't be for a little while. The wagon will have everything, 6 speed, built, rotated just too much to fully get into now but I def will later.

Time to post a couple updates. Finally got some time to install my brand new set of RCE Tarmac 2 coilovers. They sure do shine!

OLD vs NEW coilovers. A huge difference. These old ones came with the car and I have never heard of them before. I mean they worked but sure were uncomfortable and super clunky. Anyone but me never heard of Super Stable Brand coilovers?? Sounds kind of ridiculous 🤣

Tarmac 2 has a nice ring to it!

And here is a little preview of my summer wheel setup going on the car now. I'll take a full car shot on the next nice day that I find a good spot for pictures.

Hey guys, just snapped a quick pic of the sti's side profile with the new rims. Just need to dial in camber and ride height. Let me know what you guys think!

What wheels are they? I like the fitment over the brakes.

Thanks! Yeah over the brakes is tight, about as close as you can get but no issues there. The wheels are Linea Corse LeMans and they are 18x9.5 +30. A little more offset than I wanted but in order to fit them over brembos I'm pretty sure they have to be +30 considering how close they are.

They actually dont poke that much but to be honest I have heavy camber up front already. I think as far as camber goes up front I'm good. It just needs to be maybe another half inch lower up front. The rear needs another degree of negative camber and to be another 3/4" lower. I think that will give it it's best look. You cant really run these wheels and have the thing monster truckin!

I'm running 245/35/18 Hankook Ventus V12 tires on them, just in case anyone wants to know. Low profile tires make for a pretty harsh ride even with the RCE Tarmac 2s but its manageable. With the stock wheels and snow tires ride comfort is pretty good. Right now I'm running what RCE recommends for the street dampening setup on compression and rebound. Roads are at their worst possible right now after winter here in Mass and the city takes their sweet sweet time to repair so maybe I will try one or two clicks softer on the settings as long as i dont start to rub tire because of it.

Hey guys haven't posted in a while. Wanted to get some opinions on which spoiler you guys prefer. I have pretty much made up my mind and plan to run the s202 spoiler but still wanted to get some thoughts from you all. Let me know!

Which one?

OEM
Wingless/badgeless
Authentic jdm s202... with or without the risers

Picture below shows the risers on the s202 wing. It also has the authentic sti badged base

You should run what you like best... If it was my call from your choices then the s202 without the risers. Then remove just the center SUBARU emblem.

Thanks for the opinions so far guys. I was definitely leaning towards the s202 but still haven't decided with or without risers.

Right now as you can see I have the sti at my guys body shop in Somerville Ma called Webster Auto Body. They do some of the best work in all of Massachusetts so if anyone in the Boston area needs fresh paint or absolutely anything, talk to Jerry. I brought it in because the clear coat on the hood/scoop and pass fender had started peeling. They are taking care of some light dents on the hood and then doing a respray on most of the front and wherever else needs blending. So when its finished I'll take some shots of each trunk on the car and post some pics

I cannot wait to see this thing when done!

Another couple of picture updates on the front end respray. Also fixed basically all scratches from the front doors forward. Should be finished tomorrow, can't wait!

I got my car back guys and it looks awesome but I need some opinions on something. I got the car back without the OEM decals on the front doors that say STI.

My question to you guys is, keep them off or put them on?

I kinda want them on to keep it as factory looking as possible but I've already had a few people tell me to keep them off so what do you guys think? 🤔

Love the s202 wing. The front end revival looks good. I'm one for the oem decals. Me personally, I say put them on.

i personally like the side door decals. Rare to see them with them still on most cars. Usually doors get swapped or accidents happen and they never go back on. what part of mass are you from?

Thanks! The s202 wing is definitely going on. I may try to test fit it today temporarily because it still needs to be cleaned up and re clear coated.

theblob05 - I'm from Marlboro Massachusetts, are you in my area?

Nice we should meet up one day. I just went to the cars and coffee in Boxborough but got there late around 10:20 so it was pretty empty by then. There is another one in August at herb chambers if you wanna meet up there let me know.

Now it's time for the big reveal. Well actually there will be one more final rendition after this one once I get the carbon fiber splitter and rear diffuser mounted on the car but for now here it is all cleaned up with the decals back on and the newly cleared s202 spoiler with risers. Let me know what you guys think about the spoiler and how the car looks in general. I love so I guess it doesn't matter what you guys think but it is nice to know other people like it too.

Stay tuned for the final final rendition!!

I will be posting this car for sale very soon. I have made it the way I wanted to and it's time to move on to the next project. I have a 2005 legacy gt wagon and a 2004 350z that both need a lot of work. Feel free to contact me if you have any interest in the car and I'll put a link to the cars fs thread on here once I finish it.

Here is another good looking shot.

Showing my patriotism with the flag in the background, although that wasn't really my intention.

Also picked up this bad boy not too long ago. Flew all the way down to North Carolina to drive it back. That was about all the driving that I will get to do in this car as I bought it really for an investment. These things have skyrocketed in value over the past few years and examples like this will continue to climb as they get older, especially the 02 03 low mileage one owner cars, which this one is. As long as I can abstain from driving it too much.

2002 M5 1 owner with 75,000 miles.

Actually technically it has had 2 owners but owner no. 1 had it for about 15.5 years and the guy I bought it off of is a friend of the original owner and he has a BMW specialty shop in North Carolina so this thing has been well cared for and well documented throughout its life. No accidents and no issues; A TRUE GEM!

I have always wanted one of these cars as they are almost quite literally a perfect drivers car and in my opinion one of the most handsome high powered sedans ever built. Just look at that booty shot!

Sad to see it go so soon. The M5 has a great trans, just a boat of a chassis.
