Default n/a heads+trans in a wrx

i posted this in the 02+ section but i think it might fit better here...

might be buying a wrx shell..i have a sti block and a set of ported/cammed n/a heads from a 01 sohc. i know the heads bolt and work on the sti block. can they be wired to work in a 02 wrx? essentially making it a full 2.5 engine setup..i have the ability to tune to make ecu stuff read.

also, just to get it up and running, can a na 5 speed trans from a 01' impreza work in a wrx? as well as my n/a accessories..alt, power steering...?

So long as you work out the ECU end of things, it should be alright. MAP/MAF signal will only go to 0 at WOT. I'm not certain if the SOHC cam trigger setup will work with the WRX ECU.

Trans should work, but mind your ratios. 01 RS used a 4.11 ratio where the WRX has a 3.54 back in the back. Make the rear match the front and all will be well. Both clutches are hydraulic actuated, so no issue there, other than the slave cylinders being different for push vs. pull setup.

Accessories will bolt on like they belong there.

Keep in mind that combination is going to be low compression and a gutless turd without some form of FI. But it should run.
