Blah. I worked outside in it today for a bit. After a while I said, "Nope", and went home. It was a nice week though. Apparently I brought all my crappy Alaska weather with me. My bad, ya'll.

Anyways, I'm hoping to make time to meet up soon. I'm not officially working yet, so I got time to drive down to ya'll for meets!

Jus so you know, gas dissipation isn't a thing in pads and anyone who says it is is full of gas themselves.

I'm really just trying to get you facts so you are making an informed decision.

Read this.

It lines up with alot of the research and reading I did years ago, in actual books.

It's just now hit me about yesterday that I'm actually on the east coast!

Anyways, my bad. I was going to make an official thread, but I felt like there's a difference between someone making a personal choice to leave and someone who gets orders to leave. Mine was choice and therefore was more susceptible to not happening for any number of reasons. I worked really hard on making as little reason to stay in Alaska as possible: No wife or girlfriend, no kids, and no car that actually handles well during Alaskan winters.

I'll try to pop my head in AKIC when I can. I can barely make time to post as is!
Understood, I wasn't trying to be rude. I hope your trip was fun and enjoy life!

Thanks! I enjoy being informed! Nothing is final until it's installed, so there's time.

No problem. I didn't think you were. I feel kinda bad for not having more confidence in my decision having follow through, but oh well. Lesson for next time.

I'll be back up to visit! July 30th weekend for my brother's wedding. I'll take some pics and hangout. Might see if I can hit up a local meet or something.

I have to go at least once. Having been isolated in Alaska I want to see what the hype is about. Plus I want to meet some of the vendors in person since I've either had email correspondence or have talked to them on the phone over the years. I should still have my Alaska plates too, so that'll turn some heads fo sho.

I need to replace my front rotors, though, so I'm probably just gonna get new Centric Premium ones. Time is running out! Plus my buddies are starting up a mobile auto detailing service, so I'm hoping to have my car details by then as well.

Just ordered replacement front rotors. Centric Premiums.

I'm hoping to put my car in for the car show at WBM. It needs some work done, but oh well. It's fairly last minute and I want to show up! It should at least be clean, and I'll be happy about that.

Some Nikon pics from my trip:

Yukon Territory

Oregon Coast

Are you going to rep the Alaska plates at said car show? That would be awesome.

This. I don't know when you're supposed to switch to new plates. I've been here for a month now, but still don't have a solid job. I was gonna wait until I had employment before I switched over.

Plus it sticks out like a sore thumb with the Alaska plates! I love it! It creates a lot of cool conversations.

Great photos! I absolutely adore the NW***8230; We got back from driving to Seattle the other week (I'll have some interesting comparisons to the Dirtfish BRZs ready before too long- they were *awesome*). We considered taking the BRZ out there, but turned out it was definitely better to have my TSX as we had snow a good chunk of the way out there***8230; and snow + mountains + curves + summers just doesn't equal fun***8230;

Thanks! So far I love all of the United States. Each place is so unique! Except Wyoming. And Arkansas. Those places can suck it.

Anyways, I just signed up to participate in the car show at Wicked Big Meet! I wish I had more time and money to prep my car. Gonna get it detailed on Saturday, but I need to replace my rotors up front and my cracked windshield. There are just a bunch of little touches I would've liked to have finished. I guess I'll save them for next year.

I collected two nails in my rear passenger tire in NYC this weekend. Same tire that ran over a Philips/flat head screw driver piece a couple weeks ago. Poor thing is getting abused over here on the east coast!

About to drive down to Austin and Dallas. Stopping in Nashville and maybe Houston and Mobile, AL.

AZP Installs resurfaced my rotors, programmed new TPMS and mounted new tires: Continental ExtremeContact DW summers. I like them over the used WRX tires I usually rock. The car feels more like it used to, nimbler, lighter, and more spirited.

They also installed new fender liners, but now there's a plastic piece flapping down at the front? It's annoying. I'll have to cut it off since it won't stay when I place it back upright. It's starting to get to that point where I feel like I'm just constantly fixing stuff.

Hopefully I get a new job in the next month or two, otherwise the BRZ will have to go. I'm gonna ride it out as long as I can though!

Also got a new tripod, so I should be taking more pics. Trying to get back into photography. It's been a crazy summer. Driving in NYC, the car definitely gets noticed with the Alaskan plates.

I've had them for around 8-10k miles... Not a fan of them. Won't be using them next summer.

The big thing is the noise. They get loud.

But, my car is a Subaru so it already IS loud!
I always have stuff playing loudly anyways. I can hear the difference in tires in more practical vehicles, but not mine. Of course I was deaf to studded tires until I really paid attention after I put on Blizzaks, so...

Hopefully I can update this thread some more soon.

I gotta, unfortunately. I mean, if no one buys it then I'm stuck with it, but I've been given some basic offers so far. Just a matter of time before someone who appreciates the work or knows they can offload the aftermarket parts chooses to buy it.

I do really like this car, but times are tough. Gotta make tough decisions.
