Default UTEC fuel tuning question

I've been trying to create a "stage 2+" map for these mods (91 octane):

STI Intercooler
Godspeed uppipe
TXS axel back, stock midpipe (with cat) and a Stromung catless DP
colder plugs
Hyperflow CAI

I started with the stage2 + uppipe map I found here as a reference. I cut timing by 1 across the board and have the same boost setup (open control). My question/issue is that whenever I'm in the 60% + TPS area (i.e. UTEC controlling) then I'm ALWAYS rich for AFR. I've even reduced the fueling to levels below the stage 2 setup and I'm still rich. Am I doing something wrong? I can't see how this is so rich....

Here a section of the log:

You are seeing normal behavior.

The factory 02 sensor is not accurate below 12.1, so the utec simply displays "rich" below that afr.

On my wideband-tuned map, Nathan targeted 12.1:1 (before spool up) to 10.6:1 afr, so if you see anything but "rich" at WOT with the UTEC logger, you are running WAY too lean.

Here is a very nice post from Nathan on the subject with target afr graphs:

Default Thanks

Thanks - exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want to be too much on the rich side, but definately not lean!
