Default 96L Rear disc conversion

Car: 96 2.2L 5-sp non-ABS w/WRX front rotors/calipers

Donor: 03 WRX wagon

Three questions:

1: Can I reuse the axles from my non-ABS L in the swap or do I have to get new axles. I'm pretty sure I can't use the WRX wagon axles.

2: What parking brake cable do I need?

3: What about the brake proportioning? I see lots of posts about the ABS versions but little about the non-ABS.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm going to have to order one. The lines are clipped so I'll have to order one.

You may find this helpful.

Yes, the driveshafts will fit.
You need disk brake Impreza e-brake cables, any one will do. Legacy ones are way too long.
AFAICT the prop valves are the same.

As you aren't using the ABS sensors, either leave them installed in the backplate and crop the lead, tie it somewhere out of harms way, or block the hole off. You want to try and keep the muck out of your e-brake

Oh, the disk brake hoses are different also.

Yea, kinda like the RS rear sway bars are bigger than the ones on the L.

I'll probally order or find cables lying around the shop. I allready have the SS line kit for the WRX. The ABS sensors are there and clipped .5in from the sensor.

Yeah, that's about right.

The ABS hubs will work fine. Just clip the sensor lead wherever you like -- the tone wheel can stay in there and doesn't bother anything. Otherwise treat it just like any other non-ABS disc brake hub.

As for the parking brake cable, I tried a Legacy cable and it was too long. You can tie a knot in the exposed part of the cable, clip the sheath and shorten it that way, but these are your emergency brakes and you're getting new cables anyway so I'd just go down to the Subaru dealer and order up a set of GC disc brake cables...
