Default 93-96 JDM STi gauge cluster into a 96L

I recently bought a JDM STi cluster for my 96L. I was told that it was plug and play.... well it isn't.

It's a black face cluster with the spedo on the left and the tach on the right. All the plugs on the back fit except one. It's a small white one with 4 pins where as the connector for the JDM one is a 5 pin one (I think, it's not next to me but there is a one pin difference). I think it's the tach connector but I'm not sure.

When I plug it into the harness the defrost light stays on and none of the lights light up as they should. Turning on the headlights gives me the parking brake light, the turn signal and the highbeam light. The backlight doesn't go on and the dimmer will change the brightness of the highbeam bulb.

I really want this to work but if it requires re-wiring the whole thing I may just send it back. Finding a STi cluster with a mechanical speedo that wasn't costing lots of $$ wasn't easy.

Thanks
-Alex

I just took them but the cardreader is at home. I'll post 'em up when I get home.

I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of re-wiring the harness. I just need the pinout for the JDM and the USDM so I can figure out what's different. If anyone knows/has them drop me a line. I checked ravens-blade but the only pinout I found was a 96 WRX and it's a little different.
