Default 02-03 Brake Differences Causing Me and AndrewTech Problems HELP plz

So I apparently have D721 Front Pads, and when I ordered pads for my 03' wrx (thinking my 03 RS would be the same) from TireRack they sent me D929 pads. Andrew said the Hawk HPS pads I gave him to install were 10 mm measured at the tabs and the stock ones on my car are ~13mm. This means I have the old style front pads (the 02 ones). I ordered caliper brackets from exeter subaru (subaruwrxparts) and gave them my vin. They said my production date was July 02.

Andrew calls me this morning saying we have ANOTHER problem, the brackets are slightly too large to mate to the caliper and so now my RS to WRX conversion is a total flop. I thought that the differences in pads (i.e. D721 v. D929) was directly related to why there are two different sizes in brackets. It is entirely possible that I simply got the wrong bracket... I was wondering what the size differences are?

What doesnt make sense is how my car has larger brake pads (13mm) and yet the caliper bracket is smaller (albeit only slightly according to andrew) than the other bracket. PLEASE if anyone has experience with the brackets or dealing with this issue, it would greatly help me and Andrew out. This is AndrewTech im speaking of, and he is in fact all hes cracked up to be . I just wish I could have avoided all this trouble and not wasted so much of his time.

This thread is how I find out I have D721 pads after Andrew kindly measured the pads for me. I just made this account so I can't post URLs. To find the thread Search for this "2003 WRX Brake Pads ***"
