Default Any idea what this plug is

Hey guys any idea what this brown plug is for?(The big brown one with long wire)we are putting an engine from an 08 wrx into an 06 legacy gt both have automatic transmissions.

We used the engine harness from the wrx which doesn't have this brown plug.
the brown plug can also be seen on the transmission of the legacy but not on the wrx any insight thank you

On some of the older cars I've worked on the brown plug on the trans has the reverse light wires. Not sure about the 06LGT but it's a place to start.

One thing I learned after the first time installing used/salvage engines in Subarus from other models and/or years - use the intake and harness that came with the original engine. That way it will be plug-n-play and you won't have to waste time trying to figure what goes where or worst case swapping a bulkhead harness and ECM
