Default Volume prob w/ Kenwood deck

I have a Kenwood(will put specific model here) single din CD player deck with USB and aux input. I run Pandora off iPhone 4s to USB input.

The issue is this:
Pandora on, the volume is at 24/35 and I notice it isn't as loud as it should be. I power cycle phone and deck and when I put Pandora on again the music is noticeably louder at the same setting 24/35. But then the next song it gets softer. 29/35 needed to reproduce similar sound levels.
Anyone have idea what would cause this? I think 95% time it's lower level but 5% (esp after power cycle I noticed) of time I get more power at lower levels.

If your head unit works the way mine does, your head unit just amplifies the Bluetooth volume on your phone. If you turn the phone volume down, you'll have to turn the head unit up louder to compensate.

Rebooting your phone might change the bt volume level.

Its a wired connection, not Bluetooth.
It is really a small issue, i just thought I would post it here. But ideally i doubt anyone would be able to quickly and simply point out a fix.

never heard of this while being plugged in. I'd see if there is a firmware update for the kenwood or call their tech support team.

There is a setting on your phone to normalise volume between tracks ~
