Default Ecko's 16 DGM WRX Build thread with Pics (Updated 3/31/2020)

Whats up everyone? Ive been in the subaru game off and on for about 10 years. I have owned now 4 subarus. I started off with a 2004 WRB STi, then into a 13 WRX ISM Hatch, had a second kid a bought a 2018 Legacy, now i have a 16 DGM WRX.

I bought this car in December of 2019 used with 58k miles on it. I didn't have any idea on where i wanted to go with it or have any major plans. I kept the STi stock minus a cat back and some visual upgrades. The Hatch i had a build thread on here that for me at the time was extensive with how to's. but never really documented it other than some pictures and explanations.

So yesterday i decided to continue with the theme of the car while i'm waiting for all of the stage two goodies i ordered to come in, and i tinted my rear tail lights.

Before:

Prepping:

Tip: if you are looking to do this to your lights, over the hundreds ive done, if you remove the bulbs and completely cover the area you want to not have tinted with tape, put a flash light through the bulb hole and illuminate the area, if will make your lines way more easy to cut if you have a steady hand.

Finished:

I also got the windows tinted with 5% tint all the way around with 35% on the windshield

So since the parts came in today i just sat and looked at the boxes and just looked at them some more, went for a walk and came back and looked at them some more like a kid at Christmas, i planned on waiting until everything came in. Buttttttt i couldn't, so i installed just the cat back portion of the exhaust and flashed the car with a stage 1 93 octane tune base map from cobb.

Install went as expected. super simple. I'm happy with the sound of it for now, i definitely miss the rumble. The fitment and alignment of the exhaust was superb. Overall super pleased.
