Holy...how'd that blow out? Was it a puncture from the engine bucking or something? Related to the OEM pitch mount?

Possibly I just didn't trim the hose down far enough to keep it clear of the fan. I need to replace it and the trans mount to finish off my complete replacement of driveline and engine mounts. |

Picked up a Iag street series Aos and had a bit of time to install it. It is quite a lengthy install but I like the way it looks in the car and have high hopes for the quality of its performance.
Few images of it during the install. More spaghetti for the spaghetti motor! Replacing the stock pcv unit with the Iag modified unit. https://imgur.com/WP2Veay Removing the throttle body, replacing the gasket and running the new pcv line. https://imgur.com/HzJSD6u Running the lines to the Aos unit after mounting it up. https://imgur.com/CA7hbB0 Finishing up the other lines and tidying up. https://imgur.com/WsKqSfY Completed and ready to run! https://imgur.com/YuivrBM Glad to finally get an Aos on the car and looking for many trouble free miles of use. |

Well I had a watched a few videos from Getadomtune and decided that was a worthwhile mod to grab. The cylinder 4 cooling mod is a pretty straight forward install and I am hoping it will help with engine longevity. A lot of reliability mods going on the car these days.
Hard to take many photos when your hands are covered in coolant but here is one with it installed. It attaches to the outlet side of the heater core which is connected directly to the water pump. Helping increase cooling through and around cylinder 4 for lowers temps. Simple yet effective. Also while I had the intercooler off I installed new intercooler gaskets as with 111k miles and 13 years on the car those have basically done all they can. You can see a film of oil trail underneath them. So safe to safe they new ones were needed. And ready to go back in. So far the car is running well with all these mods completed and leak free. Glad to have all these done. |

Worked on the Forester over the weekend. Needed to fix some fuel lines and decided why not install a turbo inlet too. Here are a few images from that fun event. And so it starts. Def have to move a lot of things just to free the intake manifold. Factory inlet removed and fuel lines taken off to be matched and replaced. https://imgur.com/ESeNMvw New inlet on and new fuel lines installed. https://imgur.com/xn7lKRw Filling up the coolant and checking for leaks. Everything is a-ok but the coolant temp sensor wiring that took some damage when being removed. New plug and pig tail on the way. |

STi needs some more love and hoping to get it retuned in the next few months to take advantage of the updated mods as of late. I have had a week or two to daily drive it and it reminds me why I love the car. With a daily driver, it makes you forget just how fun your "fun car" is. Leave a photo while I am here! As with most projects there are always new ideas but not sure which to do next. But the fun will continue and hopefully one day I can call them complete for now! Currently finally decided on a plastic restorer for both cars. Ended up with Trinova restorer as it seemed to be highly reviewed. Now to give it a go. Washed up the Forester and decided to slap it on the bumper protector. Here is the slathering of product. Makes quite a difference. Another angle. Then I decided to look for a fall colors for a photo shoot. Ended up finding this neat location and spent a good time there. Here are just a few I have had time to edit. Many more to come. Back at it on the Forester with a few more mods and fun stuff. After getting JDM rain guards a year ago and them getting cracked when being shipped to me. I finally picked up a set of rain guards by the Wellvisors company. These are designed to be very close to the OEM versions, basically the same hardware and look.
https://imgur.com/g3Jq8Pp A fairly straight forward install. First using the included alcohol swabs to clean any contaminants and allow for proper adhesion. Then pulling down the window seal to expose where the hardware bolts up. https://imgur.com/GyA2KtZ Hardware being installed. https://imgur.com/hP8K060 https://imgur.com/qGhomUC That takes care of the hardware install and now you can sit back and enjoy the new view. Subtle but nice. This also take care of an issue I with the windowless allowing water to drip right into car when using the wipers in morning to clear off dew. Other side! https://imgur.com/jsHb7s6 Small logos on the backside. |

Thanks I have been enjoying them a lot!
Been busy working on my latest project. Which is a website for both my cars to help others with my part reviews I do on Instagram and have my diy's and installs easily accessible. I receive an average of one question a day on Instagram and though this would be a great place to find those answers easily. www.blingstrom.com would be my site and I invite you to come and stop by. Otherwise I finally decided to upgrade my stock pitch mount with a Group N. This should have been done a long time ago but at least it is. So far I am loving it. Took the judder away from leaving stop lights. No extra vibration or noise. Also replaced the stock 90 degree bend with a Grimmspeed unit. Very similar looking in all facets. But where it counts the Group N is just that much stiffer. https://imgur.com/HA7DGHx If you look very close you can see tears and cracks here on the stock unit. Easy enough to install. Just pop the intercooler off and the two bolts and you are home free. Old Installed Then on to the 90 degree coupler. I have these on the Forester too and know that they are made a bit long for all setups. The Forester unit needs to be a bit longer to reach. Trimming it up. Took a bit more off the turbo connection side and it was on easy enough. Glad to have both of these mods completed. Next on the list is the Group N trans mount. I am sure the stock unit is well gone and in need of replacement. Last edited by Blingstrom; 12-29-2018 at 10:51 PM. |

Having a few free hours I decided to finally take care of my TMIC fins. After 110k miles and 13 years it. And here it is after all those miles.
So taking a set of tweezers, a toothpick and a couple hours of my time I began my adventure. Pre Side shot My tools. Completion! More details and info on my website! blingstrom.com |

I'll definitely have to check that out. I know what pain it is to straighten every fin, haha you did a great job.
ps the blog is very well put together, may I suggest images be linked to topical content. For instance, if I click the brake setup, maybe it should lead into a brake related category or diy. It would just make it more robust. All in all I'd expect nothing less from you. Clean arrangement as always. |

Thanks for the website input! I have yet to understand all facets of the website building features but am slowly getting there. Life has been a bit more hectic given the holidays season but I will look into the ability to do that as it would make it flow and help them to easily find similar topics. |

A little helpful photo on how to shake your Forester front end down to check for loose parts. Some parts may crossover and be tough to identify without looking directly at them while a helper shakes the wheel. Just move it back and forth in the locations, if you feel a pop or click you likely have a part that is failing or failed. Some parts might feel loose in multiple locations, i.e. a very loose wheel bearing can shake side to side in any spot and a loose ball joint can do the same. Tie rods will always be side to side.
Further details and photos on my site. Linked here. https://blingstrom.squarespace.com/d...-the-front-end |

Feeling a bit over the current state of outside. Snow and ice every weekend for the last 3 weeks.. Staying inside and adding new reviews and diys to the website. Feel free to stop by check it out! www.blingstrom.com Adding links to amazon where I can to find the review items with ease!
Hoping to install this guy today. Group N trans mount.. I have def needed to add this but just have kept skipping out on buying it. While I do so the Forester sits outside and "enjoys" the weather. It has been a tank in the weather though. Especially after installing the Blizzaks.. The A/ts do well but the blizzaks are just amazing. I just finished installing it and it only took about an hour with install and comparison photos taken. Gladly the install went very smoothly and no need for tapping any bolt holes. So far moving the car from the center of the garage and back to its normal spot felt great. It looks like my old outgoing trans mount was torn from the sides. After seeing that it.. improvement of the old mount was basically guaranteed. Anxious to see how it works with the Group N motor mounts and pitch mount. |
