Default pitted windshield anyone?

For some reason my WRX has one hell of a beat up windshield. It's all pitted up. I think probably from following to close to other cars and semi's. Well, not me. I bought it this way. Here's what pisses me off though. When I bought the car the windshield looked great, but after a few washes I noticed all the pit marks. I'm almost certin that the dealership had rainx on it. Could this be the reason I didn't notice them in the first place? Also, is there any way to fix the windshield? Maybe some kind of compound?

What's wrong with rain-x? If I were you, I'd put a couple coats of it on and see if the pit marks are less visible.

There are glass polishing compounds available, but to get rid of the pits a lot of glass would need to be removed. I would not reccommend trying to polish out the pits.
Pitting on the windshield is normal, so you will probably need to live with it until a bigger stone actually breaks the windshield.
Otherwise, if the glass is pitted to the point of being a saftety issue, your insurance may cover the replacement even if it is not broken.

There is nothing wrong with rainx. I was saying that the rainx is the reason I couldn't see the pit marks when I bought the car. Thanks for the reply jac.

I was just saying that you may have stated your own solution... If you can't see the pit marks with rain-x, then by all means, put more rain-x on when it wears off.

Imagin this... I talk slow and squint my eyes and look back and forth and say... " Maybe I will, maybe I will..."
