Poison, I know you've done this before and I could probably figure it out on my own with a 20 min search on the intrawebs, but recommendation for a sub $100 coffee maker? If my frigidaire (that I bought from woot on your recommendation) was still available I'd get one of those.

this is a wedding gift for someone who doesnt have one.

Clever Coffee Dripper
plus an electric kettle and a grinder

There... With a small amount of practice, they will be drinking better coffee than 99% of coffee drinkers in the USA. Should be ~$107 + shipping.

If they then buy decent beans, they will be the 1%ers of coffee in no time!

I would rather they get a Capresso Infinity grinder plus whatever brew system fits into their budget, than a great brewer, but that's your choice.

That Bunn is a great buy, for sure. Bonavita's are around $120, and stellar brewers.

Just go for a Preciso, when you do. It's GREAT.

thanks for the help guys! I'd get them a french press / aero press but like most uninformed people they rather a $120 espresso machine than the better cheaper options.

Nate. I'm putting in an order. Should I just do a separate order to have you ship to two locations? Also need you to send me a copy of your logo via email.

Apparently you can place one order and split it to two destinations, someone just did. I've never seen that before. I'll try to come up with a logo gif for you tonight.

OK d000000000000ds

Uncle got all hooked up by our resident Mr. Poison with some of the colombian(gold ) lot 172 and some ethiopian wote somethin-somethin

and i bought this combo off amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Aerobie-Aeropress-Hario-Grinder-Package/dp/B004785HAY/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1355794369&sr=8-13&keywords=aeropress
and my review....

the aeropress is REALLY cool.....it is stupid simple, and after only using it a couple times, im convinced that it is capable of producing shockingly good coffee, no doubt
all ya reallly need to do is get it figured out so your water temp/quantity/grind/coffee quantity is where ya like it and done deal....that will take some experimentation, but worth the results
being able to heat water up to desired temp is the only real issue i can see

the Hario mini grinder.....this grinder is great for small quantities.....im gonna get a small cordless screwdriver to use to spin it as cranking out enough coffee for one Uncle sized serving is just NOT happenin fast enough with the grind set to 3 clicks from full fine
and it WILL make baby powder fine coffee, no doubt
I played with the grind setting and if you set it all the way fine, the coffee particle size produced is VERY FINE....i have a microscope here that i use for work that im gonna examine different particle size and see how much adjustment changes change the grind size

The coffee .....i have only tried the colombian one time so far---i just reached in the shipping box and pulled out a bag and called it good....this coffee is WAY good. ....and i dont think i had the grind size quite right and my aeropress technique isnt quite there yet, either

the ethiopian SMELLS

will update as work permits

I still contend that coffee geeks sound a lot like stoners when they get together.

"Man, you should have tried the Guatemalan I had last week. I swear, it was so oily on the outside, my fingers stuck together!"
"Yeah, but then, there's that pound of high-altitude Hawaiian I brought back from Kona."
"No way man, that stuff's as overrated as Jamaica Blue Mountain. Here, smell this stuff I just got in from Ethiopia."
"Woooot! Stinks so Gooood!"

Just like stoners, but our equipment costs more.

Poison, my 2 lbs arrived today. I put one in the freezer, and the one that is to be used now is stored in a cool drawer. Is this the best that I can do? I've read articles by people both for and against freezing.
