We just installed a jdm 206 twin turbo in a 2002 WRX. Had to swap crank sprocket and left side intake sprocket, cam sensor, water temp sensor, water crossover, and intake. There are water and oil connections on the left side head that need to be blocked. We put a VF37 turbo and exhaust on. Using a Megasquirt MS3 stand alone.

I did a leakdown and had exhaust valves leaking on 2 cylinders. I removed the heads and had a macine shop dress the seats. There was carbon on the seats. Then had to order shims to get in spec. I think the seats would have been ok if we just ran it.

I had it barely running and stepped out of the shop and the kid I was working with took it street racing with 15-18 AFR's. He smoked the clutch and burned a hole in #1 piston.

I'm looking at jdm engines now. Will the intake from the 02 wrx fit an 08+ jdm 2.0? Any advice on no , single or dual AVCS motors? The MS3 can run AVCS and I'm fine with wiring and fab work.

A talented kid. The clutch stated slipping under load and the piston damage showed up about 30 miles later.

So will the 02 intake fit the 08+?
