When was all the work done?
Head gaskets(if done correctly) shouldn't be a problem again...but with 200k miles, it's ready for another timing belt, water pump, etc, etc.

If you can get it for $3k, and you want it to be a reliable car, depending on how much work you can do yourself, figure another $1k-$2k in preventive maintenance immediately.

Tires?

I'm not a fan of any aftermarket HID setup either. They can be problematic at best, and burn your car to the ground at worst.

Accidents? Clean title?
Make sure to Carfax that baby.

Receipts are worth gold when dealing with any high mileage car. If he doesn't have any, assume NOTHING has been done.

Good call on not going with this, unless they have ample receipts and proof that all the work that was done is done.
