Thanks for the help guys! First time on the forum, it was a highly recommended search from a VW buddy of mine who even name dropped williaty. Your work is well known and the appreciation is real.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231556329866 this is who I bought mine from. He is good seller and fast shipper.

He's not the only seller either. As long as the intake is the same as he is selling. Your good.

Then depending on what year you have will effect how you modify the tube. The most important thing is to leave everything from the maf down factory.

This is what mine looks like.

This is a thread about intakes, why are you asking about exhausts for sale?

Anybody have any experience with Cosmo racing intakes on the 08+ na imprezas? They have both a short ram and a cold air and I'm curious to see if anybody has experience with running one, or if anybody has a solid 08 2.5i intake set up

Just the inside diameters of the pipes. Both primaries and collector end.

I just picked up a 2008 2.5i for a daily and it came with a Spectre CAI already on it with no air box. I just noticed today that the intake pops when I blip the throttle at a light so I need to replace this thing asap.

I'm going to run a hybrid since it already has a nice tube. Looks like I'm going to have to order some parts from Subaru because I can't find all of it on ebay.

One of the things they wanted me to look at was intakes for the RS. The first thing that came out of this was the Hybrid Intake Coupler Kit. The next thing was me getting time, resources, and a test car to try to work something out to safely use CAIs/SRIs on the MAF-based NA Imprezas. After a number of hours of knocking my head against the wall, I cracked it.

Using a portion of the ECU logic not normally associated with intake tuning at all, I have managed to "tune out" the negative effects of the MAFv spike. The resonance still occurs, the MAFv still spikes, however, I have figured out how to trick the ECU into ignoring the MAFv signal in that range. The result of this is that the car doesn't go stupid rich, doesn't belch black smoke, doesn't buck, and doesn't bog. Is it perfect? No, there's a limit to how much I can abuse the ECU's programming. There's still a small error that ranges between 5 and 10%. Thankfully, it's still on the rich side, so it results in the car running about 0.5 to 1.0 AFR richer than called for in the fueling targets. When driving with a tuned car in Open Loop, you can no longer feel the problem at all. When driving a tuned car that happens to still be in Closed Loop in the problem area, the AF Correction #1 (aka Short Term Fuel Trim) is able to completely handle it and keep the car at stoich.

Summation: I figured out how to safely run a CAI/SRI on a MAF-based NA and TiC is the one who owns the knowledge.

Ty (williaty)
Is there any chance anyone knows this secret so others can tune with it? Would tuning with speed density help eliminate this issue?

Thank you for the link... As I was going through this thread I was losing hope and thinking I was going to have to shell out $150 for the Cosmo to build the hybrid. This is ordered and on the way.

Did you get yours installed? Any pitfalls to avoid?

Default Condensation?

Wondering if using a metal pipe might promote condensation inside of it when temperatures start to get colder during the year and a car sits outside?

Does anyone know if I have a 89 Octane tune on my Impreza if this could put it at risk in some way? I know a lot of the timing tables and what not have been slightly changed so I don't want to put my car at risk.

Thanks
