German companies have a troubled relationship with the N/A market and wagons. They don't understand our aversion to wagons as Germans prefer them to sedans. Americans don't seem to get it.
I'm a big fan of wagons, they're practical and they handle better than SUVs. What I don't understand is why Audi would have both an A4 Allroad and a Q5 in their lineup. Seems like a lot of cannibalization would occur. Then again Subaru is bringing the XV to the US despite having the Forester. Not sure where I'm going with this ramble, except to say I kind of doubt VW will bring the Passat Alltrack. Isin't the N/A Passat chassis distinct from the Euro version? Seems like it would be too small a volume to justify another platform. Then again we do have the Jetta wagon... |
