Sorry, I was more referring to the number. I assume our fuses are numbered. But 10-4, got it. haha

Second to bottom one in the separate fuse column on the right. It should be the top brown one I believe. The ones above it are all blue.

Works on a 2015 CVT Impreza
Many thanks to the previous posters for figuring this out. I just tried pulling the fuse on my new 2015 CVT Impreza and it worked like a charm.
Now to wire up a nice switch... |

The next time we get substantial snow, doing to fuse pull before I go full out and wire up a switch.
Question though. You guys say this eliminates the ABS while it's deactivated? Would you say that overall helps, or makes the car worse? Why I ask is because most of our busses at work don't have ABS and it's fine. Many of my other cars have had ABS that is NO WHERE near as touchy as this car. This cars ABS is terribly annoying and over-touchy. This car going forward in snow/ice is great, but coming to a stop is a nightmare 95% of the time. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

ABS makes you stop slower in the snow than locked braking, and I believe on slick ice too, although that's a lot more variable than a thick blanket of snow. Just make sure you release the brake for a second if you need to turn or you're starting to oversteer.

ABS activates only when your wheels lock. The "touchiness" is a function of how bad your tires are for the conditions. There's more to maintaining control than raw stopping distance in snow. Stopping a few feet shorter (if that) isn't worth a complete loss of steering. If one of your tires snags a patch of dry pavement while you're locked up in what you thought was snow, you're going for a spin. Also, by killing VDC, you've disabled your cars ability to recover from that spin. Fun in a parking lot is one thing. The rest of the time, leave it on. |

While on it's face, your rebuttal may seem logical. However, I have never ran "garbage" tires. My current tires have tread. And this has also happened last winter on 80% tread Continental snow tires. So not quite.
And I wasn't asking about the ABS thing per VDC because I planned on driving anywhere without it. I was simply curious as to it's change. I will stand by my statement. This cars ABS is too touchy. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

I understand how it should work. I drive 60k miles a year for work alone. What I'm saying is that for some reason "my" ABS one "this" car is unusually touchy. For whatever reason. **** tires not being that reason.
Like the other day. There was a couple inches of fresh snow as I left for work. I cautiously pull towards the 4-way intersection at the end of my road. It's a slight decline - very slight. I approach the stop sign going maybe 7mph. As soon as the road begins to decline, no gas pedal, foot hovering over the brake. Gently apply the brake as I approach the stop sign, currently going no more than 5mph. Suddenly the car jerks, ABS locks up, car slides a foot though the stop sign. Yet, I can drive a RWD 14 passenger shuttle bus through a blizzard without a hitch. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

ABS doesn't "lock up", it does the exact opposite by interrupting braking force that you've applied.
Unless it's kicking in at random on dry pavement, you're expecting too much from your tires. Which tires do you run in the summer? |

The only thing I can think of in regards to my example is that the road in question is bumpy. Maybe one of the bumps threw the car off balance and it "thought" there was an issue.
And I know that ABS doesn't "lock up". I'm referring to the fact that you can't do anything. It just does what it wants. In the couple summers I've owned it, I've either had performance all seasons, or summers. Had Hankook V4's and some Goodyear F1's. This is a snow only issue though, so I don't see how this is relavent. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

When it does kick in, some drivers respond instinctively by trying to push the pedal through the floor, which just loads the system harder and causes the jerking you've mentioned.
If you let up a bit when the pulsing starts, ABS will too and you'll have more control. Also, engine braking is very useful for slowing the car down without locking wheels, especially in the 5MT. |

Now that, I fully agree with. I never had any issues in my Si. That was a 6mt, however. Engine braking is optimal for the gradual hills and whatnot that they so love to place stop signs on around here. Autos just coast too much and force you do brake too much.
