The hatch I think is still too small for family use. I scrape by on most occasions with my Impreza Sport. But yes we all are waiting for the HP wagon.

Yeah... rumors flying around. VW is keeping their lips tight though. I think the EPA has a hand in the hold on this one, so it might be out of VW's control. They had some cold-start misfire issues on 2017's and I don't think there's an official fix yet, my guess is they're waiting to figure that out before releasing. I don't think VW relies on an air pump for startup emissions like subaru does.

They've been sitting in Jacksonville since September...

I'd like to be in a new car by the end of April, so hoping they fix this in the next 2 months...

I think my family could get by with hatches no problem. The wife likes that we have an Outback in spare though.

I would be okay if they weren't released for another month or so. I would like a chance to get save a little for winter rims and tires. Also, not having a car payment is nice, so another month of gloating at the wife is preferable.

We've got an outback for family duty.

I got by with my wrx and a big roof box when my son was younger. Could probably still get by, but it'd be tough, admittedly, and even harder in the Golf R.

We got by with a WRX and an STI from birth-3 with my daughter. Then it was an STI and a Civic until she was 8. I would hazard that a family of three would be just fine with a hatch. Depending on where you live and whether or not you do any towing of course.

it's more of the car camping that would make it difficult. Without that, we'd be just fine with a hatch.

Yeah, the extra space is needed there. The only reason the wife got the RS was because I told her we'd keep our Outback for fishing and outdoors activities.

So we can expect to covet the forbidden fruit of this concept in 14-30 months.

The WRX concept was had a direct connection. The Advanced Tourer Concept I don't think did. It was a "design direction" concept. That they morphed a few times. This probably being another one.

Im finding it easy to manage a family of 3 with my hatch WRX. Im hoping the new platform gives the rear seat some more space like it did for the impreza... second kid on the way and that will be tight in the 2012 wrx woth the rear facing seat up against the drivers seat. Have the 2017 forester 2.5i touring for long trips though.. because gas is cheaper.

7 inches longer than 2018 wrx. Typically the hatch is shorter than the sedan so this is more like the levorg/outback. 2" shorter than an outback. 12" longer than a crosstrek

CNET is reporting this is possibly the next gen outback as opposed to a new vehicle.

Outback? Nah. New levorg... seeing as it looks like the WRX and STI Viziv concepts but wagon.

And remember it won't really look like this -- this just represents the general shape and design cues. I like it.

I was thinking levorg also for styling, the length is closer to an outback than a levorg though.

I wouldnt be surprised with an outback shrinking since the ascent exists now. If it is Levorg, I'm sure the US wont see it.

Where is that WRX hatch?? Hopefully something 3/30/2018 - 4/8/2018 New York International Auto Show

Haha, that would be a throwback. Don't forget Potenza also comes in R-Compound versions.

Here are pics and videos: https://www.subaru-global.com/ms2018/geneva/

I really like the Buick Regal RS look to the front end.

Well, the current Impreza looks (and is by a little bit) longer than the last gen, so no doubt the possibility of dimensions increasing a little is there. I don't think the Outback would shrink since as a 5-seater, it serves a different purpose than the Ascent.

I think you are looking at the WRX "hatch". Whether we get it is another question...

I still think this will be the Levorg wagon, not a WRX hatch.

The more I compare measurements, and style, and location, and timing, the more I see this as the next gen levorg.. Levorg was introduced in 2014 and its still on the old platform so it feels due... It is essentially a luxury WRX wagon.

Hoping for something more HATCH from Subaru in New York at the end of this month.

Yeah, that's why I had hatch in quotes. I don't think there will be a proper hatch. Just the levorg.

Yep. I'm thinking Levorg or some strange All-Road/alltrack/Buick/whatever competitor.

Slightly disappointed but I'm sure it'll be neat.
