Angry 2008 Wrx Engine Failure

Was driving on highway all of a sudden hear hissing sound and my ATF TEMP gauge flickers and engine stalls. I tow my car hom since it's holiday and checked my dipstick lvl and it was way too high and smelled like fuel and can tell there was plenty of fuel in my dipstick. Oh and my ATF TEMP gauge is at MAX and my car don't even turn over at all. what do you guys think problem is??? Tranny gone? Engine gone?

Very disappointed

Doesn't sound good. Get that car to the dealer ASAP. Sounds like something went bad! Best of luck!!

Very disappointed with SUBARU(This is my 6th car but new to SUBARU). My first problem w/ my car was P2021 code(tumble generator circuit low-took like 2 days to find the cause) LOL Then now this, I think my car is a LEMON.

Very understandable. Maybe it is a lemon... although to really be a lemon something would need to be consistently wrong and unrepairable.

Looks to me like you got a rare Subaru with significant issues. Subarus are generally very reliable. Hope the dealer can get you back on the road soon! Be thankful for that new car warranty, and don't lose hope. If they can get the issues cleared up, the car may be flawless for a long time!

He's just referring to the regular engine coolant temp guage. He got a transmission warning light, and the engine coolant temp guage was high. Definitely something wrong here.

Question;

Did you recently fill up with gas? Check your receipt and make sure you didn't put diesel in it. Sounds stupid, but I just had a car in the shop (not a Subaru) that had identical symptoms, and come to find out that the gas station filled the tank with diesel. She filled her tank with it and started having the same problems as you. We drained her tank, cleaned the lines, filled it with gas and it was as good as new. Cost the gas station a pretty penny, though.

Can you even put a diesel pump into the filler hole without a lot of brute force?

LOL I did day before but I always check to see if they put 92 octane and they did. I also checked the price and it showed they were pumping $3.65/gallon. i filled about 13 gallon and @ 3.65 it came up to be $48. Diesel here is around $4/gallon and at 13 gallon its gonna be $52. I'll notice the 4 bucks difference LOL kinda anal when it comes to numbers. When you put 3800miles a month you will too, car has 17,000miles now. Also spend about $570/month on gas. My coolant is also LOW. At same running temp, it was between(middle) high and low mark. but now its about inch below low mark. ALso when I put some dipstick fluid in my drive way(in the rain) I noticed rainbow colors LOL fuel/gas and smell???

You'll have to post up here about what it is. I have a couple guesses and they aren't as simple as diesel in your tank. I'm thinking catastrophic failure.

He's referring to the 'alcohol, tobacco and firearms' gauge. All the '08s have them.
