Quieter 3" Exhaust. Anyone tried Dynatech cone sound reducers or Catco cat
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...C%2D72%2D32520
These come in 3" and are stainless to boot. It might be just the trick to tone down the rex. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=CTO%2D6007 Another option might be to place a 3" stainless 14" long catco $49.95 cat further downstream, and use a $20 cel eliminator for o2 sensor, or lengthen the wires a bit. I can attest that these cats are wide open, and don't limit power. You can see right through them! They are slip fit for easy install with clamps, then a short drive the muffler shop for a weld.

...or you can just get an exhaust with a bigger can, like my nur spec touring or the greddy evo. even catless these aren't very loud.

Which exhaust is the quietest? This question can be answered by listing hard data and "commonly known" quiet exhausts:
a. M2 Performance 94db @ idle, 94 @ 3000 RPM b. GReddy Evolution 94db @ idle, 92 @ 3000 RPM c. MRT Twin Tip: No data, but commonly known as quiet. d. Prodrive: 94dB @ idle e. STi Muffler: No data, but commonly known as quiet. f. Borla Hush: New exhaust with few reviews, but all of them seem to point to quiet. Many of these manufacturers produce several lines of exhausts. You must rely on the retailer's product knowledge to determine which exhaust is the "quietest" of their product line if that is your goal. Keep in mind that these quiet exhausts only protect you from the chance encounter in areas with strict noise abatement laws. At wide open throttle (WOT) any aftermarket exhaust is considerably louder than OEM and even the quiet ones will not protect you from folly. How do I quiet down an already loud exhaust? 1. Install an aftermarket silencer. This is an insert that is fitted into your tailpipe. 2. Install a resonated exhaust tip. 3. Have an inline resonator welded into your exhaust. |

I've been looking into a Espelir JGT500. I've heard that it is one of the quieter 3"....it also comes with a silencer.
