Default Check Engine light turns on when I Redline

So if I redline it, which isn't very often, my check engine light turns on sometimes. It usually turns off after about 12-24 hours. Any reason for this?

Get the code pulled as soon as it happens again. Do you have any mods? Crank pully?

Mine did that once at the track when I slipped the clutch and hit the rev limiter (yeah I know...dumb thing to do). I had the code pulled, and I can't remember it exactly, but it had something to do with a cam sensor. Like yours, the CEL went off by itself, and hasn't been a problem since.

I'm planning on getting the code when I can but it always turns off the next day (So far it's only happened at night). If it comes on during the day I'll deffinately get it checked.

as long as you didnt reset the ecu via unplugging the battery, the codes should still be stored. Id go to autozone and get them pulled to see what the ecu is trying to communicate.

It doesnt flash, it just turns on and stays on for a bit. I dont have EM yet, I do have a full exhaust system, as well as a boost controller and intake. My mods are a little out of order (Courtesy of the previous owner) and EM is my next step.

I am using Utec + built block + jun cam and rev it to 8000 RPM. As u know Utec can adjust the rev limit but when I drive the car for the first 5-10 minutes (after warm up the engine) and rev it pass stock rev limit which is at about 7300 RPM ... the CEL will light up.
The code is faulty cam sensor, the code number is PO 113 if I am not wrong. When I turn off the engine and restart, the CEL will off but the code going into memory that can be read later using scanner.

AFAIK .. it doesn't effect anything, only as reminder that we have overrev the engine. My car still run great after got that code many times because I rev the engine too soon .... If I drive like 15-20 minutes and rev it to 8000RPM .. no CEL come up. Very strange ..

The code remains in memory regardless of whether the light stays on or goes off, as long as you haven't disconnected the battery or cleared it with a scan tool. So, you can go and get it read at any time after the light has come on even if it's gone off in the interim.

i've had this problem too but not anymore as i dont drive my car as hard. i pulled it as soon as it came on at autozone and checked it out online and found out that it was the front O2 sensor.

As far as std management goes,......if you hit rev limit BELOW 55 Kmh, the engine light will illuminate, (to tell us tech's that you've been thrashing it!! ).
This is normally only an issue with manual vehicles....:d
can't remember the code, but it's not cam sensor....

Cheers PPL
