I'm having a hard time making the injectors click when inserting it into the fuel rail. Do the injectors only go on one way?
i'm pulling for the life of me and still no click. Should it be really audible and noticeable? Last edited by prspect06; 06-11-2006 at 03:47 AM. |

I just put them in with no click. I hope all turns out well. Are they supposed to be able to spin while secure attached to fuel line and engine block?

When I installed mine only heard 1 sort of click. As long as you pull up as hard as you can and you use new orings you will be ok.
Yes they will turn. |

thanks!
Should I just prime the fuel pump after I'm done without starting it up? Do I just get a flash light and look at the injectors for leaks? |

as soon as you start it you will know if it leaks. Usually it will spray if they leak. Flashlight is safer than a drop light for this. If you discover leak turn off engine, wont take long to start a fire.

Basically, you align injectors carefully into fuel rails and pull it UP gently until you feel a "click". It is indicative of good seal. Before putting brackets back on, turn on the engine and visually check for fuel leak.

errgh i just spent 3 hours trying to install pinks, and i only manage to get the driver side done. the passenger side is giving me a lot of headache. i managed to removed all of the 12mm bolts on the GBOD except the one behind the breather box thing. i cant get my ratchet's socket on it enough to be able to turn it, and my wrenches are a little too short...any ideas?

It is a very tight squeeze. I used a very old japanese Nissan tool kit that was in my skyline gtr, it helped to cuss and talk to it.
You could use a dremel and cut it off. I left both of the GBOD's off. Good luck Jay-R |

Your welcome, once you cut it off you will have room to get the extra piece off.
Hopefully you did your homework before the install and got new o-rings, do not reuse the old ones. Not worth the time it takes to change them out in case of a leak. They cost pennies, soak them in gas before install. Once you get past the GBOD you are home free. Jay-R |

I just installed brand new pinks so I thought I would chime in. The larger o-rings that seals against the fuel rail leaked on both of my driver side injectors. I don't know if the o-rings were bad. It could have been that I pulled up on the injectors too forcifully (they didn't "snap" in like the passenger side) and I deformed them. I resused the old o-rings and just turned the key to "on" to kick on the fuel pump--they didn't leak yet.

The entire install is very simple, the thing that shoots you in the foot is trying to reuse the o-rings. Never attempt to do the injetor install without a set of new o-rings. They cost pennies and if you have a problem and your old ones leak your car will be down for at least a few days when you order them.

wow, would have been nice to have a writeup like this when I installed the pinks in my old 03. Started the instiall at 6pm, with some breaks in between, I didn't finish untill almost 2am thanks to no light and the GBOD!
Good work on the pics/instructions! |
