Default Crosstrek wheels on Impreza

Glad I found this forum. Recent new owner of a 2012 Subaru Impreza Hatch Sports limited...stocked!!! currently on steel simple wheels with snow tires (195x60x16).

I am currently shopping for a nice Wheel upgrade for summer and found an opportunity to get a set of Subaru Crosstrek Wheels (225/55 R17)...I know...it might not works but I decided to ask here for feedback anyways.

First I didn't pay attention to the tire size when I saw the add on CL, also unaware of the Impreza limitations. Met with the seller at a car shop, instantly saw the wheel size and got concerned, mechanic also discouraged the sale but I wanted to try anyways. They installed the two on the front only to check for clearance, stationary is fine and he could turn the steering wheel all the way but the gap was very small, barely could fit a finger. What I regret not doing was to go out for a spin so at this point I still don't know if the tire would indeed hit somewhere...so I'm still saving some hope here....

any feedback? would that work? bad for MGP? thanks

Hey y'all,

Tirerack.com doesn't list an 18x9.5 for my car, the 2013 wrx hatch. But if i set a brz as my car, it has an option of the rear wheels being 18x9.5 with an offset of 45. My question is, will I run into fitment problems with that wheel and an 265/35 18 tire? Will there be issues when the car is fully loaded, 4-5 passengers? The car is on stock suspension. The bolt pattern matches at 5-100 but i'm not sure what the bore diameter of the wheels are. Thanks y'all!

Any issues mounting these WRX rims on a 2012 Impreza? Debating between these and brand new settlies. Worried about the 5mm less clearance for the brakes (53 vs 48 offset):

2002-04 WRX
Size: 16x6.5"
Offset: +53
Bolt pattern: 5x100

Offset has nothing to do with brake clearance, those wheels will fit great, i was going to get a set of them 5 years ago.

Instead i found a set with 38mm offset for even cheaper, otherwise i would be rocking the snowflakes for winter use
