Ordered a Big MAF from Kingpin because the price was really good -$169. It took a few weeks to show up, and of course they sent a black one since I specifically asked for red to match my hawt Perrin inlet hose. This is annoying because it's such a minor thing and I didn't want to wait any longer to install my injectors, etc. But I called a couple times anyway to discuss exchanging it. I forget who I talked to, but he said he'd call me to arrange an exchange directly from Perrin, and of course I haven't heard from him since. I give up - it's just not that important. Now every time I pop my hood at the local Suby club someone will say, "You know you could'a got that MAF hose in red, don't you." I just don't know if I can find true happiness in life unless my MAF hose matches my turbo inlet hose. Woe is me, and fie on Kingpin.

I would have to say that the people I've met at Kingpin seem cool, but it's been 5 weeks since I ordered an exhaust. Dave said it would take about a week when I first ordered it. Didn't come in, no call, didn't think much of it. Week 2 I call Dave asking about it, and he said Seth deals with the shipping and he's out, call back Monday. Cool, call back next week (week 3), and pretty much the same deal. Head into the shop last Friday (week 4) and they call Seth on his cell to figure it out. Seth says that it's been sent, and should be shipped to my house. Cool. They tell me they are going to call me on Monday to give me a tracking number, got nothing. This is getting a little ridiculous.

Dave, I know that you're trying and it's cool. I have no problem with you guys, it's just a little bizarre that it's taken so long. I was hoping to get it installed this week or at least within a week.

Hey, do those kits come with the same crumpled up chicken scratch coffee ring stained instructions that my Buddy Eric got with his?

He did finally get all of his stuff after 3 long months of waiting (which surprised all of us up here) but the instructions were not legible.

This is very common with them. My buddy dropped 12K worth of parts with them and waited 3 long months. One part was an Axis Stage 5 engine so we knew that would take some time but after further investigation, we found out that Kingpin doesnt pay their bills and that is why the Axis engine took over a month to ship. Ron told us that the thing was done in 2 weeks ready to drop ship but were waiting for the check from kingpin to clear.

The GT35R kit was also a mess and parts showed up so late and packed like crap. Not only this but they just kept LYING to me and my buddy about everything. Stuff they said shipped and didnt, they would even pretend that they had tracking info and gave my buddy a fake number.

These guys are not trustworthy at all. I wonder if it's the AZ heat that does it down there because so far Kingpin and Vivid are in the same league, F-.

it amazes me the mentality of the local forum a$$hat - for those not in the production industry here is a mental note to take down for future reference:

high performance part raw materials DO NOT GROW ON TREES!

in case you have not been in tune to the world around you - there are several other factors working against the performance parts industry: The War in Iraq, Airbus and Boeing's new zillion dollar contracts for aircraft, ect.

now - if you want the same made to order performance products manufactured with inferior raw materials i am sure that can be accommodated. do you know how many different grades of stainless steal there are? are you aware there are only a few that are best or specifically suited for this type of use and abuse? this also plays true for aluminum. next time your out for lunch or whatever take a close look at the hand rail on the steps - would want an exhaust or intake made from this material?

granted some of the parts for turbo kits and so on are in stock and waiting for "other" parts that are out of the control of everyone but the manufacture. i.e. garrett has certain # production run of turbine housings, once completed they go on a shelf to either be shipped or wait to be ordered. then its onto the next size, shape, design production run of housings ect. now you may ask how does garrett for example schedule these production runs?....mmmm....i think they call it SUPPLY AND DEMAND....remember garrett is in the business to make money - so if international and kenworth for example were to use the gt-t3 housings maybe we in the performance industry wouldnt have to deal with a bunch of keyboard courage whining a$$hats about parts taking soooooo long to get to their door steps.

in the performance industry the margin on parts is sooo small you have to buy in bulk like walmart to really get ahead.

so to this ladies and gentlemen i hope you take it to heart, that we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with.

thanks for your support!

well here is my write up......

Up till ordering my headlights, my experience has been great, infact perfect. I guess I would say I ordered in the range of 300 or so dollars, but none the less everything was fine. thanks guys.

Well when ordering my jdm projector headlights some llittle minor incidents happened. Dont get me wrong, the headlights came in immaculate condition and very well packed. The only problem I had were, missing high beam plugs and some communications error. Even though im a bit frustrated with the inconveniece of not finishing these headlights, I still would not say they are bad vendors, just a few things need to be worked on. Dave your a good guy and I only give constructive criticism to help possibly make your company even better but ... it would be nice if you were more informed on the shipment process (if not a bit involved) just so you could shut us impatient people up and probably make a predelivery inspection to see if all the parts are in. I apologize if this in anyway sounds like a malevolent review but its not supposed to be. If anything this review is to help improve (if at all) their service. My final thought on this whole thing is they are not so bad.

Actually i believe Dave made those just for Eric, as we usually dont give instructions.. I am sure Eric will be happy when he looks back and sees you in the rearview

I appreciate the kind words and constructive critisism.. You have to understand how many boxes get shipped out of here. I can not physically go back there and look at everyone, that is the shipping dept's job.. As soon as i knew you were missing that plug i ran back and cut it off the car's chassis harness myself And put it on daves shipping table so it would go right out..

Sorry again Kar!

Look into the glass. The plastic around the lights inside is either black or its black chrome. flat or chrome..

Thanks, your opinion of me counts!!!!

Anyways, my big problem wasnt that it took monts because I have personally done 2 engine builds myself so I know what patience is all about. Don't believe me, ask Gruppe-s and DPR. My problem was the LIES.

Horshack was dead on - a statement rather than opinion!

And you know what they say about opinions??????

Anyway I would take it soo personal - you have been lumped together with a sad group of others instead of being singled out.
I just got a PM from a former employee who knows all about my buddy's situation.

He said that Mike "treated us like dog garbage". If anyone wants me to forward the PM to them please PM and I will.
