I meant STI/WRX in case one was a hatch and one was a sedan. They are definitely completely different, but many people don't realize that, so I always clarify.

From the "profile" thread:
Here are some of my profile shots over the last two years. No photos of winter 2010/2011 setup (steelies, stock suspension) or the early summer 2011 setup (OEM wheels and suspension). I would never even want to change the stock wheels if they were a little more flush with the fenders!

I like how they look, but they'd have to be at least 9" wide, lower offset and well under 20lbs for me to keep them on year round.

Are you liking the rce/koni setup better than the bc coilovers? I had some fortune auto 500's on for a couple weeks. I'm running swift sports and stock shocks, liking that way better than the coilovers myself. Coilovers + DD is not a good mix for me.

8kg/mm = 450lb/in (standard coilover springs) 5kb/mm = 275lb/in (RCE Black springs) The RCE spring setup sits pretty low. I think it looks great in the summer, but may end up being a little too low if I end up getting a lot of snow in my area this winter. |

I would recommend the Swifts either in sport or spec r if your looking to swap them. being that you have upgraded shocks you could go spec r, I would have gone spec r but I'm on stock shocks for now, sports only drop the car 3/4". I'm very impressed with the linear feel of them. Coilovers and bumpy street roads actually makes the car harder to control let alone horrible ride quality. Lesson learned for me.

Yeah 7L is my buddies shop. Let me see if I can find the specs for the Swifts real quick. My other friend has the first set of spec r's on his 11 sti hatch and he likes them.

I don't understand why I would want this over what I have now? Is this an advertisement?

No, this is not an advertisement. I can delete the post if you would like. I thought you wanted spring rate info and couldn't find it? Let me know and I can delete it.

I guess I was curious since you mentioned it, but I don't see any reason I would want them no matter what the spring rate is, and I'm not sure why you think I would want to change.

How was the ride on RCE Blacks on the stock struts? I'm not ready to swap my struts but would like to maybe lower the car a little. Were they bouncy?

You never had an AOS on your car right? I was wondering what your thoughts are about them.

You have tried several exhausts and have tried a couple suspension setups, thought you might be looking to try another spring setup since the pictures you just posted were geared towards suspension/wheels. I am on stock wheels so I have no experience with aftermarket wheels. It was just a suggestion based off of my experience so far. Didn't mean to come off that way.

I need to look into the koni's you have. The springs did help but I can definitely tell shocks would make a great improvement.

Is there a reason why you opted to chopped the 09 struts instead of your original stock struts ?

I wanted to keep mine in case I need to swap back. I went with 09's because the narrow body geometry allows the 08-10 struts to have about 0.5-1.0 deg more negative camber when installed on a 2011+ (which I wanted). I discovered that the 08-10 struts also lower the car about 1/2" more than the OEM 11+ (this was not known going into it, but I'm not unhappy about it). |

When you had the tsudo do you remember if the stock dp will bolt up with the cbe? I have to go through CO inspection and need to put the stock dp back on to pass. I'm just not sure if I need to put the whole stock exhaust back on or not.
Thanks for the help with the #'s and ?'s about my tune! We got it figured out, my tuner said he simply had the DAM set to .8, he's making a few changes to map and is gonna set it to 1. I went back out to road I was doing the logs on and it definetly changes inclines often. Can you think of any reason that I would be knocking the p0137 code every once in a while? |

It should. Just make sure the gasket seals.
He can set the DAM to initially be whatever he wants. But if it wasn't making it up to 1 then I don't think you want to just set it to 1. That will just make things worse. The car will be using more timing, knock even sooner, and then go back down to .8 or lower. That code is related to an O2 sensor but it may be one you can ignore and have him turn off. Not sure on that though. |
