I just installed the tune. Took a total of 10 minutes with my clunky seat up.

My old laptop which can't hold a charge and has a busted track pad needs an external mouse and a goal zero battery power supply.

Anyway i will be putting i. The initial 40 miles on it. Don't think i will see the difference till about 100 or 200 miles in.

So I found a station out here that sells E85 but it's the same price as regular 87/89, and I'd have to make a 15-20 mile trip into the heart of a city with terrible traffic nearly constantly, just to refill. IMO it's worse than having to order in barrels of it. I wanted to try it, but it's not gonna happen unless the mountains collapse and are no longer an obstacle to E85.

You can't look at the E85 as a conservative mod, it's more for the fun and increased performance. I would say give it a try for a tank or 2, you will climb those mountains faster!

Well I sent th an email asking to try the E85 tune. When I get it I'll try to run my tank down to near empty and fill with E85 since it's currently filled with 87.

I'd recommend starting with 93 before e85. The tune can run 93 so you won't damage anything if there's still the old fuel left in the tank.

Yes but 93 octane is like $3.50 here in a lot of places, if not $4. E85 is around the price of regular.

Hello folks with a TH tune.

I've been driving with the rev4 tune for about 200 miles now.

I have noticed that this rev4 tune is now putting the CVT into "6th" gear when cruising at 60-80mph. The previous revision 3.X had the CVT in "5th" gear a lot of the time while driving at the same speed. This I feel is much better for fuel economy. You can always drop a gear or two if you need the extra passing power.

Had anyone else noticed any other differences in rev4? For better or worse?

I might try flashing my ECU back to stock and drive it for a week. I remember it not being terrible after I got use to it. But I forget now the difference between tune and no tune.

He's traveling now, so it seems like it might be a while for us again waiting for Rev 4.

That was the advice from Matt. Basically if the tune doesn't take you're stuck with a bunch of e85 in the tank that the car can't run.

Sorry, that makes absolutely no sense. If you get an E85 tune and it doesn't work with E85, you're stuck regardless of what was in the tank before. I don't see how starting with 93 does anything different...

He meant if you have an issue installing the tune.

I'd do that but there'd be 87 left in the lines unless I had filled with 93 before, and also gas stations not being self service here it complicates things. They get pushy if you don't gtfo and most of them don't even have separate spots for parking to go inside.

If I knew when th was going to send me the tune I'd fill up with 93 before the tune comes in, but I don't wanna spend 2 weeks with 93 when I could be enjoying the E85.

I'd say when you get it run it down, put some 93 in there (a few gallons) and then flash, to be safe.
