Default Cincy - Spring Meet

Well it's about that time...

We need to think about a spring meet/install day/BBQ. April is probably best, May seems to be a busy month for a lot of people. I'd like to do an install day but, unfortunately I can't host it (unless you want to hang out in a dark parking garage).

Anytime before Memorial Day weekend should work for me. I'll need to install some Kartboy shifter bushings, but thats about it. I'm sure Josh can find something to install

If nobody else wants to install, Ault Park or Winton Woods would be fine.

Lets hear some ideas...

I've only got a mesh screen and mudflaps to install, and will be doing them in the next couple of weeks. I want to get them done before the cicadas arrive, 'cause I don't fancy cleaning them out of my IC or radiator.

Winton Woods is perfect for me, but Ault Park or someone's house would be good, as well. I'd offer my place, but I've only got enough space for about 4 people to sit...

Well, I'm game. Ault Park would be good, but people would need to be on their best behavior, I think. I've seen a Honda group get chased out of there, but our group has never seemed to cause much trouble, so we should be fine.

I have no issues with Winton Woods, as I've never really hung out there. They do have reserveable picnic shelters, though, which is nice, and I'd guess they are free. Ault Park does not have anything like that.

I could host again in June(early-mid), but not before then. Things are just a little crazy here now. I don't particularly need an install day, and I think we could do with a nice casual BBQ. Only issue with a park is weather. It's still gonna be a little chilly for the next few weeks. I'm OK with that, but just want to point it out so people don't bail if it turns out to be 50 degrees out.

What dates you thinking? I work the weekend of April 26/27th, but could help on any of the other ones.

Ault Park sounds great to me, its basically my back yard! There some good spots with grills and picnic tables w/ plenty of parking. Im out of town April 26 and 27. Im with Brandt, anytime before Memorial Day (Indy 500 ) would be good.

Josh-My uppipe and IC hoses should be here in a week as well!

dang, you guys need to schedule something in May. My parents are coming down to visit me next week. So, I won't be needing to make a trip up there for a bit.

BTW, I can help with any up pipe installs. Just got mine donw last week. If you've never done one, it's VERY intimidating. But now that I've got one under my belt, it's alot easier (relatively) than it appears.

Anyways, when I'm in-town I'll let you all know

May is good for me, too.

Let's just say that I'm pretty much good for a meet any time, anywhere.

Does anybody know if Eric (the guy who runs the Cincy region rally-cross) got his house done? I remember him saying something about a three car garage and plenty of yard space.

Regardless, I'll have nothing to install but would like to hang out anyway. A Sunday or afternoon Saturday would work best for me (because Spring term I have a Saturday class from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm - lovely ). As soon as I get a couple of track days under my belt, I'll have a better idea which direction I need to go first as far as mods.

Hello other Cincy Sub owners...Well I don't have a 3-car garage or anything like that but I do have a decently stocked one car garage and depending on how many people show up I got room for about 8 cars or so and one in the garage. But it is a residential neighbourhood so no burnouts or anything like that. Plus it is close to the Beechmont Suby dealer and Sears paint and hardware in case we need more tools. Depending on dates of course.

Mike, it'll be a cold day in hell before you and I end up at the same meet again. We can't seem to catch each other no matter what. Number of times you've been here, number of times I was in Chicago when you still lived there.

Oh well...it's nice to know you try.

dude, what is it about our schedules. Yeah, I'm gonna have to make a specific 'goto to Cincy when Neil is available for a meet' trip.

My car is pretty far removed from the last time you saw it. Maybe I'll shoot for May or June. You got any free weekends?

Does the Cincy crew have a regular meet during the week, at all? I could shoot for one of those.

Mike, no regular weekday meets as of yet. Although, maybe those thursday night cruise-ins? I haven't made it to one yet, so I don't know if people are still going.

My weekend schedule is currently every 3rd, so usually I'm off. With notice, I can get off. However, if I get my new job(fingers crossed), my schedule is wide open. I'm sure next time you're in town, we could probably get people together. Just shoot me an email when you think you'll be around.

So, anyone have any date suggestions for this early meet?

How does May 3rd sound? We could do Ault Park or Winton, but we'd probably want to do a reservation for Winton Woods for a picnic area(I have no idea how soon we'd need to do that....east side parks usually fill up about two months ahead of time). I don't think installs would be viable on either of those.

We could start around 11:00 and obviously we'd be able to go to at least 3:00, later if people feel like hanging out.

Any other opinions?

Hey guys whats up,not my garage yet.
Not for another 4-6 months.
I could host this meet but it'll be outside on the asphalt driveway.Plus I have to move my cars around. There's plenty of space to park if you don't mind the backyard.
I can possibly do it next weekend(Apr19-20) but not the 4 weekends after. Those weekends are reserved already, all SCCA stuff. This weekend (Apr5-6)is reserved also, to go to Chicago to pick up a Dodge Omni GLH turbo(please no jokes). It's going to be a Club Rally car.It was a Pro Rally car up until '93.It needs lots of work.

I'll keep an eye on this thread

Your place sounds good too. Obviously, you're an east sider, so that's appealing to me. I know most of our meets have been on this side of town, though, so I don't want everyone else to feel neglected. If people vote for your place, I'm all for it.

We need to get some people to at least give us a date...

I know Eric's busy, but how about May 3rd? Or other dates?
Next weekend works for me, but I know that's not enough notice for some.

I'm sure we'll see more replies in a few days.

I'm probably available. Keep me informed. I'm out of town the last few days in April and first few in May.

I'm free any weekend except Mother's Day (May 8-12) and Memorial Day. I don't care where we meet - any part of town is fine with me since I am very centrally located now!

here's a list of things that make me busy
April 12 Sat: family thing
April 13 Sun: pick up GLH
April 19 Sat: I work from 5-10 am
April 26 Sat:SCCA event thing at a Mason High School
May 3 or 4 do some presetup for rallycross
May 8-11 Headwaters Club Rally in Minneasota
May 17 sat:Setup far rallycross
May 18 sun:Rallycross

In between those dates help my dad to find a car so I can get my Impreza Brighton back.

The 3rd and 4th of May is a give and take weekend.Presetup is easy and not that time consuming(3-4 hours)

May 3rd is best for me now that I think about it.I have a gas grill and plenty of tools but the welder is broke.I don't have any video games at all.

Here's a thought, for the people who like WRC and Pro rally. There's a possible meet every time a new rally airs on Speed.

I'll keep my eye on this thread

Eric,
Maybe we should aim for your place on May 3rd? Does this sound good to anyone else? We can all bring some foodstuffs and have a grill out. Weather should be good, so does this sound feasible?
