Talking The Official SWIC Dog Thread

I just wanted to make a thread for the dog owners of the SWIC. I picked up a foster dog this weekend and realized how much I missed having a dog (I grew up with several dogs). Anyway, let's see your dogs.

This is Sadie. She's a 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. They claim she's pure bred, but my parents have several purebreds and she's missing a couple of traits. Personally I think she has a bit of Greyhound in her due to the long narrow head and raised ears. The good news is that she loves rides in the car and loves hiking/camping. Her previous foster home did Arizona Search and Rescue with her so I'm hoping to get her snake trained and continue this. I'm proud as can be of her so the SWIC will probably get their fill of pictures.

She's tall enough to get into everything. This may be a problem, but we'll see.

You can see her ridge in this picture.

i thought this thread was about food.

my uncle has had nothing but RR's some did shows a few times a year (the breeder had my uncle sign a contract that when he bought them as pups that he had to allow the breeder to take his dogs a few times a year to enter in shows). Your dogs face is kind of narrower then i'm use too but cute none the less. I bet she loves that pool

This is my Chihuahua mix Ruger. We saved him as a puppy. The breeder was going to drown him because of the bad eye making him "unsellable". So we took him.

This is my Lab mix Remington. She was a 6 month old stray we found in Alabama outside our house near the projects. She was very malnurished and had mange pretty bad. She is kinda small, only about 40 lbs, the vet said the malnutrition and mange probably stunted her growth. Very smart dog and likes to walk the line regarding the rules.

This is my wifes dog Buddy. The vets think he is some sort of Corgi and Hound mix. If there ever was a dog with mental retardation this is it. The dumbest dog I have ever met.

We rescued a 7 mo old Boxer from Boxer Luv back in Dec. He was 45 lbs at the time and now he is 58 lbs at 16 mo. He is great with my 2 little girls, great all around dog but slightly stubborn at times. Don't have a photo to post at the moment though.

I don't post here much, but love the dogs...so

This is Cade...my co-pilot. He is a lab mix. He goes pretty much wherever I do.

This is Luna, she is a Presa-Canario. Pretty docile for the type of dog she is, she is still growing and this picture is a bit older and about 30 lbs ago. She is now about 120lbs.

And this is generally how I wake up each morning.

Good looking dogs Chase. I don't understand why people drown animals they don't want. I mean, getting rid of a dog for a bum eye is pretty petty, but if you must dispose of an animal, drowning has got to be one of the most awful ways I can think of. Seriously, people suck sometimes.

And I know what you mean about retarded dogs. My buddy is dating a girl with a dog (also named Sadie) that is very "special". This dog hits walls and then runs until it throws up. Then it pees.

Very cool! I have a cockatiel, and while he's not as smart as those guys, he's pretty freakin' smart. It's been one day and he's got the new dog fooled. In the first 5 minutes I had her home, she stuck her nose in his cage and he wailed on her. She now walks WAY around the cage to get to the back door.

I've had him for 12 years and he's been awesome the who time. Birds are excellent companions (well smart ones are... doves and pigeons and finches suck).

My good ol' boy died back in april. Hopefully I'll be picking a dog up here in the near future. I've had a dog in the house almost my entire life, and it's awkward not having one.
