East Coast prices are jacked! After my first taste of Utah last year, I would much rather go to Snowbird for $60 than to cranmore for $65. Almost 3x the vertical and 12x the acreage than cranny. And of course 5x Ave annual snowfall.

Some deals here: http://www.liftopia.com/ski-resort-i...FcqY4AodJyUARg

As far as places to go, both Stowe and Jay Peak offer great overall terrain. For parks, you usually can't go wrong with Mt. Snow or Loon.

I'm lucky to have 6 ski areas within about 30 min. of my house here in NH. I usually go to Wildcat on powder days. I ski with my students every Thursday at Attitash/Bear Peak. If you ever head up to the North Conway area, let me know and I'll suggest the best places to ski, drink, eat, stay, etc.

It's been snowing all afternoon here. Another several inches expected from this storm to add to a great week of snowfall.

Hit Pat's Peak today, first time there and it was really good. Lots and lots of fresh powder to even make up for the crappy season last year.

Loon was a ****show. Long lines and lots of ice by the end of the day. Any day out is fun but it reminded me why I'm not a Loon fan. Crotched for Midnight Madness on Friday night (was there till 3am) was better.

Same with Attitash. I drove by there yesterday and today to take my dog for a hike, and it looked like a freaking circus. I wouldn't be surprised if there were clowns and elephants mixed in with the ten million families on vacation. I would quit skiing if that's how I had to do it. Miserable.

Don't go this week, that should fix it. As much as I want to get in this snow I just can't bring myself to deal with the crowds.

Cannon was packed on Saturday. I was with a group of 7 which is larger in itself but damn it was busy. We left around 1:30 as it was getting to be more about dodging small children than riding. Not to mention everything was skied off by 11. Hate riding the week of Christmas vacation.

Finally got my first day in workin at sunapee. So glad I'm only there 2 days a week. Heard conditions were spotty. Some good, some crazy icy from wind blowing the snow. Saw a blue wrx in the second lot when I was leaving.

I'm heading to either Snow or Okemo on Saturday. Anyone know which one has better conditions?

My sister, her two boys, and my mom skied Bretton Woods Thursday and Wildcat yesterday. They said both were awesome. I took my nephews to Attitash today. Summit chair was closed until 11 AM because of wind. Conditions were pretty good, but some trails were scratchy by the afternoon. Still had a blast.

Did Okemo on Thursday. I was told they got a freak blizzard the evening before which made for good morning conditions. Very hard packed and Icy in some spots made some fast runs.
No parks were open, with the exception of a few rails.
