It'll peel, just in small chunks. It wont come off in one whole piece like it would normally do. Took me 15 minutes to peel off the trunk trim. So your roof would take maybe an hour or more instead of three minutes. Theres some vids on the net demonstrating experiments with PD and glossing it was one of them.

Is there anyway to make the system shift faster?

Thanks
I have the same issue. I think it started when I was frequently using sport mode then just went back on normal drive. Dont know if switching to a better ATF would help the issue.

Tune/Chip? I recall seeing that cobb makes an accessport for the 08/09 models so you could look into that. Also I remember reading about a tactrix cable or something like that and getting an online tune from stimikey or whatever his name is? Despite not getting a lot of power (obviously), being an auto, I feel like you can adjust how fast/slow the transmission engages. It may not relate, but when my friend's old Audi A4 auto was chipped, it shifted much more aggressively and quicker as well.

The cobb AP for our cars only work on the 5speeds unfortunately. Even after the fact there really hard to find considering that cobb only made 80 of them

Darn..

Atf sounds like a good idea but i just changed mine about 1000miles ago, and this same issue was there before.

Tatrix /Cobb seem good but i believe they are for remapping the ecu, which in turn Will change the way the engine reacts. But would it actually change transmission? Hmm...

Good call sellars21.
Yeah I mean worst case is you can contact the company/person and see what they can do for you. Otherwise, "shoulda got a manual" haha.

AP is pointless because you will still need maps.

Last I checked/saw no one carries maps for 2.5i's.

I talked with a local tuner about tuning my car and he said it is basically pointless. Our cars (manuals at least) have a very good power curve already. The reason turbo cars need tunes is because once the turbo spools it creates a power punch or oomph. Whereas NA are smooth the entire way through. If you take a look at dynos between NA and turbo'd engines, NA is very linear without tapering off at odd points.

Hope that makes sense. Lol

It does. I could see how in our engines it may not do much. But there are people that chip NA cars all the time.

Thats true, but they don't chip 2.5i Imprezas. Specifically of our years.

Our cars are tuned very well from the factory Most cars may be able to get 10whp from a tune the Subaru 2.5i motor is already tuned to put out everything it's got.

You're pretty much just as well off getting your oil changed as getting a tune.

But why do people run higher octane fuels? What can that accomplish with our cars? Other than a bigger hole in my pocket lol.

The most worthwhile thing you can do with the car is suspension mods; sping upgrades, sway bars, etc. If you want more actual power, then trade it in for a wrx before you do something detrimental. I know a few have learned that one the hard way.

What fancyfootwork said. I mean if you want to feel something, try a grounding kit and a lightweight crank pulley or put your suby on a diet lol. I have a grounding kit and I like it but, I'm still thinking about whether I want the LW pulley or not....

Under the Grimmspeed pulley review thread a guy with an 08+ 2.5i (forget the year) mentioned the car ran much smoother and even a slight increase in gas mileage. I mean less rotational mass is always good no matter it's location lol.

Just wondering what are some of the things you guys had to replace already? Seems nowadays that I've been replacing parts that fail more often, mostly suspension-wise. My cars about three years old and I don't even abuse it unlike some that I've seen.

installed the prosport oil pressure gauge today. It was such a pain trying to get the wire through the firewall. And the stock sensor's 24mm so i needed a set of big deep well sockets; i didn't have at home so i had to go and buy it. It was also a PITA to reach as well. i'll need to steal some zipties from work so i can tie them nicely
