![]() So this may be a silly/dumb question. I have blocked off the secondary air pump system and removed all the hardware related to it as the motor is out of the car and I figured this was the best time to do it. My stupid question is can you just block off the parts of the solenoid with the barometric pressure sensor and leave it mounted so you don't have to destroy a potentially very expensive part to get the sensor off? I only ask in case for whatever insane future reason myself or someone wants to put this system back on the car. It also looks like its a pain to cut that sensor out and would just be easier to block off what is no longer in use. I noticed in all the videos there are some wires that feed down to the solenoid they just rip out and cut off wasn't sure if that was absolutely necessary or not.
Thanks, -Rob-

![]() I guess a follow up would be ... will I need to pay $150 to Cobb to clear these codes or should I be able to just get a local tuner to clear them?

![]() A local tuner should be able to give you map to kill the error codes associated with the air pumps. Was a pretty simple and quick process on my 2012 wrx.

![]() Or you can buy access tuner and delete the codes yourself if you're tuned On an AP.

![]() You can buy block off plates for cheap and take it to a tuner and have them turn it off in the ECU. Your check engine light will go away and you will be able to use cruise control again.
