Has anyone found a way to run power through the firewall yet in the 2017 Impreza? I'm trying to wire up my ham radio. I guess this would classify as a mod!
Look in the engine bay - theres a bunch of grommets in the firewall, you should be able to pick one. On our 2012-16 there was one that had 4 points, almost like a trapezoid. I used that to run the power line to my amp under the passenger seat.

I did a muffler delete/ turn down pipe for a minute. It was really loud, go figure, sounded decent but it was too much for my daily driver.

looks like Subispeed will be supporting the 17+ Impreza as they now added its own section: http://www.subispeed.com/more/2017-impreza

Theres nothing much yet, but at least its a start.

Default Sport Stabilizer Bar Question

I'm thinking about adding the rear swaybar from the Sport to my 2017 5 Door Premium. The Sport comes with front and rear bars while the rest of the models get the front only. Has anyone with the Sport measured the diameter of their bars. If the front on the Sport is the same size as the one on my Premium then I know adding the rear bar won't be too much for it.

The bar itself is only like $80 or so but you have to add the links, bushings and clamps too.

I'm also considering going up to the Sport 11.6" front brake rotors. The other cars have 10.9" front rotors. 16" and 17" alloys have enough room to do the swap just by changing to the Sport caliper supports. The knuckles, calipers and brake shields appear to be the same ones used on the Sport. It should be an easy mod like I did to my old Forester going from 10.7"up to 11.4" WRX rotors.

But sport has lower profile tires, so if I wanted to swap out the 18" for 17" ones what size tire should I get to make sure all the instrument reading are correct. I am looking to do 17" + bit higher profile tires as roads around me are sinkholes with spikey sharpened spears in them.
definitely

Install is easy, took me about 30 minutes. The hardest part is getting the clips off, almost need 3 hands. Use a phillips to turn the center part until it pops up (about 1/8 of a turn) while holding the the outer part with needle nose then use a flat head to pop the center part out. Removing the 2 rear clips facing the ground I had to destroy to get them out but those aren't reused so no biggie.

Here's some hi-res images:

Default K&N Air Filter 33-2304 on 2017 Subaru Impreza

I was curious if anyone has tried the K&N Air Filter 33-2304 with their 2017 Subaru Impreza.

I was searching several parts retailers to see if anyone has manufactured a high(er) performance filter specifically for the 2017 yet, but haven't found anything.

However, when searching the 2016 model (at AutoZone.com, for example), the results are:

- STP Air Filter SA9997
- STP Premium Air Filter PSA9997
- K&N Air Filter 33-2304

When searching for the 2017 model on the same site, the results are:

- STP Air Filter SA9997
- STP Premium Air Filter PSA9997

Since the two STP filters with the same part numbers and dimensions work on both years, I'm inclined to think the K&N would work on the 2017 Impreza as well.

Any thoughts?

You should be fine. Buy one and if it doesn't fit, return it.

I believe you will see a rear sway bar on all models above the base Impreza. Mounted up high. Had a pic but can't find it right now.

Thanks! You are correct and my reading comprehension on the brochure is not good My Premium does have the rear bar. I thought it cornered too flat not to have one. It is mounted way forward compared to the old Imprezas I'm used to working on. That's great and means I can spend my money on the larger brake rotors.

Any pics at a better angle? Showing the whole car from the rear. Looks good but but can't really tell how they look as a whole from those angles

Default Installing fog light kit

Anytime have any idea how easy or difficult installing a fog light kit like the one linked below would be? The description makes it sound pretty simple.

The installation is the easy part. It's the electrical that can get tricky. Typically it's taken me about an hour for cars that needed the front bumper removed. The instructions provided look simple enough. Give it a go.

I bought these the day before yesterday. They arrive on Tuesday. Hope to install them next week - if/when I do, I'll post back and let you know how it went.
