Default 2019 sti won't start/ all lights in dash on. Need help!!

I went to drive my car to work & when it started (the first time), most of the lights were on (cel gas oil hill abs c diff was blinking etc). I also heard a beep & it said "check owners manual. When I tapped the gas, the rpm gauge didn't move either, but the car sounded normal.

Thinking it had to be reset, I unplugged the positive battery terminal for about 3 mins, plugged it back up & now the car won't start. It won't even crank. When I try to start it, the dash dims out like it normally does, but then it goes back to acc but w all of the lights on as mentioned above... What is going on? Any ideas? Sounds ecu or electrical. What side is the ecu on?

How could it be the battery if all the lightsare on, and it DID start before i disconnected and reconnected the battery?

Because the battery has an internal short.
Do Not jump start it and drive it to the dealer. If you do the alternator will recharge the battery and likely “test good” and they won’t replace the battery. Call roadside assistance, have it towed.

I am confused. The battery having an internal short will cause the lights in the dash to come on WHEN started?

The car started first, the lights were on in the dash. Most of them. I unplugged the positive terminal, and thats when it doesn't even crank anymore. I still have power inside the car.

I should also mention, that I used the grommet on the passenger side (I believe where the ECU is) to fish my power wire thru for my amp. Could I have messed up the ECU?

Did you run the amp power since you last drove the car? Do you have a meter to test the battery?

Nope. Didn't even start it since I run the wire. I never tooked it up to the battery on anything. It just goes thru the firewall & to the trunk. That's it

I will test the battery later. I discovered all of this at 4am in the morning on my way in to work.

I'm still trying to figure out how the battery comes into play. I know with it not starting (possibly), but the lights on the dash?

Dude, the lights on the dash probably consume one five hundredth the amount of amperage as the starter, so it's pointless focusing on that detail.

I would jump it and drive it, I still don't believe it will test good even if it's driven. A battery having a 12v charge is a totally different capability than a battery being able to deliver 800 amps at a shot.
drive it to the dealer and have it tested, they have all the real equipment for testing batteries which is more than one would think.

Highly unlikely you did any damage just by running a wire. You haven't tapped into the battery so the cable isn't carrying a load and didn't drain the battery overnight.

Follow the power cable from start to finish. There could be a slight chance you might have knocked something loose when running the cable. Sometimes a knocked out harness or basic fuse can light up your dash like an xmas tree.

Years ago, 17 to be precise, I was installing an amp through a passenger side grommet and while doing so i ended up slicing an exposed wire and shorting out a bunch of electronics in the car. The car was at the dealer for a month while they replaced damn near everything trying to trace it. It was a costly mistake.

So my question would be if something was nicked on the ecu, would it cause the lights? That's the main thing I can't wrap my head around. I want to upload a picture but the forum won't let me. I used a fish tape to get thru the grommet. & before that, I hadn't started the car in 5/6 days

Drained battery. Enough to power the electronics but enough to turn the starter motor.
You probably hear some clicking when trying to start the engine.
Either put it on a charger to charge it up or jump start it and go on a continuous drive. Don't shut the engine off unless you know you can jump start it again.
Didn't see the problem with the lights. It seems like something else is damaged if the dash is having communication issues.
This is why I never mess with car electronics. Repair is really expensive.

Just as an aside, you should be disconnecting the negative terminal, not the positive. Lots can go wrong.

It's possible certain electronic systems need initialization after battery disconnection. Stuff like power steering and hill hold might need one drive cycle to initialize.
I would make sure you charge up the battery before proceeding.
Also is your car parked outside? Where you live do you have rodent issues chewing on wiring harness?

P0000 can be caused by low battery. Like I said get the battery situation figured out before suspecting other problems. Modern cars rely heavily on electricity and can cause all kinds of issue if the voltage is swinging wildly.

Yes.
Make sure your battery terminals are tight.

Switched battery out and still won't start?
Check any blown fuses.
