No, I knew who you were. Thanks for saying you wanted me to be your friend on XBL, but I'll pass on that for the time being.

I thought this was the Grand Rapids thread, not the "Let's talk about Subaru's cuz this is a Subaru site and that's all that can ever be discussed, evar" thread?

Calm down Rob, we'll get back to Subaru talk in a minute. We're just all geeked about a new toy, I know you can appreciate that.

Aron, any news from your brother about the exhaust? I called a shop in Muskegon and they quoted me a cheaper hourly rate than your brother, but I'd have to take time of work because there only open weekdays, and there is no way that's hastening with how busy I am at work right now. And would you mind bringing the shifter assembly and TGV assemblies in to work one of these days? I'll swing by when I get out of work and pick them up.

I am registered. 6 speed or not.

I am still looking for a r160 3.90 diff.

I found a auto drive shaft from a 2002 TS from Tom Studeman up in Muskegon.

I think that will work but I have to make sure.

If anyone know for sure that the TS DS will work please feel free to chime in.

Researching this swap is making me crazy.

Rob,

You can also use an STI Driveshaft, you just need to swap the "End Plate" from your WRX Driveshaft to the STI Driveshaft to match the bolt holes that go to the R160 Diff. Just another option.

Yeah but that is a weekend of Stage Rally, not just RallyX. If it were an AutoX it wouldn't bother me, as I have done so many trips before like that. I will have to see and rethink about it. Hoping my WRX will be up and working by then, received my Injectors back earlier this week. Working on putting it back together to see what happens.

If it still is acting up I am going to unplug the MAF and see what happens. If it idles fine, than I will need to find a known working MAF to borrow to see if that truly is the issue.

Do you know if I can use that TS auto DS? Can't find any info on people using one. I would think it'd be the same as an 02 auto wrx.

You need an auto driveshaft. It doesn't matter what from because they are all the same platform and transmission.

I am not 100% but the 4EAT is a 4EAT. They didn't change the case of it and the TS still used an R160 Diff. So there seems like no reason you couldn't use it.

I have two you can try: the one currently in my car, and the one that is still in my SPT Intake from the black Blobeye.

Just what I thought. Random parts at overcoming my garage and basement. I don't want any more stuff I can't use.

Alright....since this is my first winter with AWD and amazing Subi...suggestions on drifting/driving in the snow? I have snow tires so grip isn't too much of an issue, but i want to learn how to do it right as opposed to just "weeeeeeee i'm sliding"

Keep your DCCD in Auto Mode if you want to have a more controlled drift. If you want to do Cyclones put in Manual - Full Rear Bias. If you just want to Launch your car say on some back road from like a Stop Sign, put it in Manual - Full Lock, then once you are going put it back in Auto.

Don't be afraid of the Throttle otherwise you will understeer! Now just get out there and have fun. BTW don't even think of going to the Delta Plex to do Donuts, the Cops watch that place like a Hawk. GL

haha thanks...but i was more referring to a step by step...i used to do it in my FWD with go into corner fast, pull e-brake, and feather the gas to keep it going...i have a feeling its going to be a bit different with AWD and about 130 more horses under the bonnet

Awesome mang. Get some pictures of it installed already.

Rob, I've got a line on a 3.90 rear diff, do you want it? Stock WRX axles slide in, and it's from an older Legacy. 50 bucks.
